Ben View Phoenix Hotel

TOUT ! L'hôtelier ne nous a pas accueilli. Il est resté couché sur son canapé devant sa télévision. Après avoir insisté pour avoir nos chambres, il a enfin daigné nous dire que toutes ses chambres étaient occupées, pourtant aucune voiture n'était garée sur le parking. Une autre personne arrivée en même temps que nous était dans le même cas. D'après lui, c'est la faute de Booking.com.
Nous avons donc dû nous résoudre à chercher un autre hébergement. Tous les hôtels étaient complets et nous avons fini par en trouver un excessivement cher.
Je l'ai signalé à Booking, qui m'a répondu que je ne pouvais pas bénéficier de l'annulation gratuite et que ma demande était transmise à l'hôtelier. Je doute qu'il fasse le moindre geste financier.

Malgré certains commentaires très négatifs, nous avions décidé d'accorder le bénéfice du doute à l'hôtelier, à notre grand regret. Je pense que cet individu est malhonnête et profite des réservations via Booking pour se faire de l'argent.

Everything and the guy that supposed to check me in was vile

Wszystko, to jedna wielka "makabreska", czy nikt nie weryfikuje tych ofert? Finalnie zostałem z żoną bez zakwaterowaniana tę noc, rewelacja, dwoje emerytòw spędziło noc w samochodzie!!!
Nawiązując do poniźszych pytam, tam nie było źadnych łòżek, jedynie zupełnie pijany, chyba właściciel "walał" się po podłodze...
Z nerw niestety nie zrobiłem zdjęć, a szkoda...

Very disappointing experience — I would not recommend this hotel

I booked a stay for two people at this hotel and received a confirmation email. However, when we arrived late at night after a long journey, we were told that someone else had already checked in and that there was no room available for us.

The accommodation itself was also very disappointing. It was extremely smelly and felt more like an abandoned house than a proper hotel.

The host told us to go to the village and look for alternative accommodation, but unfortunately, we could not find anywhere nearby with a room available.

As it was already very late at night and there were no nearby hotels with availability, the whole situation became extremely stressful and exhausting, especially after such a long journey.

We had to call several hotels in the area, but because it was so late, most of them were not answering. Eventually, someone answered and, although they did not have a room available themselves, they kindly contacted another hotel and managed to find a room for us.

Unfortunately, the alternative accommodation was about an hour away. It was raining heavily, and the journey took us through dark country roads and a forest. Travelling through an unfamiliar area in those conditions so late at night was extremely stressful.

Overall, this was a very unpleasant and disappointing experience. The low price and breakfast included may sound attractive, but based on our personal experience, I would strongly recommend checking everything carefully before booking.

We wouldn’t recommend this place to others.

Établissement non entretenu, laissé à l abandon, ne ressemblant plus aux photos présentes sur booking. État général sale, mauvaise odeur partout dans l hôtel, des poubelles traînaient à l accueil, avec du désordre (outils...) Nous avons dû sonner 5 fois, et attendre avant que le patron, visiblement alcoolisé, ne reponde. Il n a pas pu nous attribuer la chambre prévue avec vue sur le loch, et en arrivant dans celle qu il nous proposait, du linge sale traînait au sol, le lit n était pas fait. Il a voulu nous éloigner de l hôtel pendant qu'il préparait la chambre En fait, il a rapporté du linge d une propreté douteuse, et rien d autre n a été nettoyé Nous l avons également vu retourner boire dans le salon. Au petit déjeuner figurait un pichet de jus de pomme rempli de moisissure, la vaisselle était sale, et le patron nous a servi des toasts moisis. N ayant rien trouvé d autre pour passer la nuit, nous y sommes restés pour la nuit prevue, mais je ne comprends pas pourquoi cet hôtel est toujours présent sur booking, malgré les critiques faites par les clients (et à 125 livres la nuit, on peut attendre mieux !)

Tools and a very rough garden area not inviting at all, even neighbours had issues . The breakfast was supposed to be the best “Scottish breakfast” I’ve ever had his words!! It was as crap. I cover the country with my work and this is definitely the worst place I’ve stayed. It certainly is not disability friendly or child friendly . Please folks avoid like the plague . I’m not photos on it didn’t warrant the time taking the photos .

Staff. decor, cleanliness

The only thing missing was a bar but Grahame said he's hoping for one for next year however their was a local shop 5 minutes away by car which has a good selection of beers

We do not recommend this place. When we arrived we unfortunately found the owner incoherent and inibrated. Due to the status of his condition he literally could not respond or get up from the sofa to check-us in. The surrounding neighbors informed us that this has been a problem for the past 3 years and multiple efforts have been made to inform booking.com to not list this property in their listings. That same night we met a family of four who also had reservations at this place. We were left scrambling to find another place to stay at with little wifi/internet connection. We were told by booking.com that we would be receiving a confirmation of a new reservation but then received an email saying we had to secure it ourselves. There were no more stays in the area and luckily found a stay about 45 minutes away. To say it was a jarring experience is kindly put. We feel for the owner as we understand this illness is complicated however this could all had been avoided if booking.com had delisted this place a long time ago.
