The owners and staff were amazing. The house is so full of charm and so close to a lot of things, but I would suggest having a car if you want to drive downtown, especially in inclement weather. The front porch is so sweet - rocking chairs, a place to sit down and eat. My husband and I enjoyed quiet evening playing chess, after enjoying a nice meal. The rooms are beautifully decorated in the Victorian era. We enjoyed a room that had a beautiful clawfoot soaking tub. The coffee machine is an espresso, which we really enjoyed, having access to it any time. Glasses, plates, cups, and use of the kitchen, refrigerator, toaster, silverware, sink and stove are also there for use. I really had a great experience checking in, it’s just so happened. It was Mother’s Day and our room had been ready early so we were given early access to check in. The staff is friendly, professional, and very neat. The cleanliness is absolutely of the highest standards will definitely be visiting this place again. Should we come visit the area in Mobile.
Everything
This house was amazing! It was like staying at a museum, full of historical items to look though. Felt like traveling back in time! By far the coolest place we've ever stayed. The bathroom had a huge claw-foot tub as a bonus! Would definitely recommend!
no complaints!
We loved the entire experience. The home is a historical marvel. Communication on entry process was very good. On our stay we were the only guests and had a free exploration of the whole property . The self serve features of the stay worked very well for us. Snacks , various breakfast selections, coffee (Nespresso and Pot type ) were all there for your choosing. We stayed in the Isabel room. The bed in that room was quite comfortable but it was a little high off the floor. Location is in a very charming section of Mobile. We saw a part of the city that we had not seen before.
We weren’t quite sure how to enter the parking area upon first arrival. But all got worked out quickly. Most all the bedrooms are on the 2nd floor so there is a flight of stairs to handle,. It was not a particular issue for us but it might be for some of the folks that enjoy these vintage homes.
The owner supplied condiments, snacks, juice, etc. There were fresh cookies! All necessary kitchen supplies, pots, silverware pans etc. were clean and available. Modern appliances! Everything worked.
The location was adequate for our visit to Mobile. It was conveniently located near most of the good restaurants in the city.
The neighborhood was safe and pleasant. Neighbors were friendly. This is an 1889 Victorian home with a good library and many historical elements of interest. The bed was particularly comfortable. The large, claw-foot bathtub is a unique experience. This was the best stay of our 30 day multistate tour. I would definitely stay at this property again.

Beautiful house. Comfortable bed. Nice linens. None of those awful duvets that are too hot. Lovely dining room and sitting room. Fun and safe to walk around the quiet neighborhood and look at the gorgeous homes, although Kate Shepard House is the most stunning of all. We walked to and ate dinner at Nixon's. Surprisingly good food for a sports bar. It was so kind of the host to allow us to use the golf cart to get groceries. Good communication. Easy access with keypad, although the directions in the video are wrong. Mardi Gras in Mobile is fabulous. I have never seen Mardi Gras in New Orleans, and don't want to, but I am glad I serendipitously saw the family-friendly version in Mobile.
We asked whether the fruit and cheese in the refrigerator were for us. We were told we could take anything from the refrigerator, but guests had left deli platters, fried chicken, carry out boxes, things that clearly weren't for us. Stuff just kept accumulating for the four days we were there until the refrigerator was full. It would be best if each room had a refrigerator. Any milk or fruit in the refrigerator should be clearly marked for the use of all guests. Breakfast consists of sugary cereals. Two guests need two luggage racks and more than three coat hangers. The bathtub does not have a shower curtain and the shower spray is attached at the edge of the tub. I could see this in the pictures; looks pretty, but I didn't realize how inconvenient it would be.
A beautiful house in a very nice area.
The parking is pretty limited.
The property itself is beautiful and the room had a lot of nice character.
I was looking to use the extra blanket in the room and found that the last occupant had left some dirty clothes behind that no one had cleaned out of the cabinet. I reached out to the hosts via text and email- using the number they gave in their welcome email. I just wanted a clean blanket. No one ever answered me… I’m not ok paying these rates for a hostless property with no service whatsoever. Thank goodness I had no trouble getting in. The kitchen was also a bit disappointing in the morning as the only tea available was a sun bleached box of white tea and the hot water dispenser was broken. But honestly, the main problem is that no one was responsive to me.
Beautifully restored Victorian home! Lots of treats and coffee available.
The bed was too soft for us. Never met the host which lacks a personal touch.
Well maintained historical house, so many interesting artifacts inside
Not really
Location was great. Wish we’d had more time to explore immediate environs.
We had to change rooms to downstairs due to air conditioning issues. We moved to the boat room which was large and roomy. It was a bit too bright when sleeping due to outside light reflections.
I would suggest broadening the breakfast offerings to include items that work for folks watching their sugar levels.
Excellent stay with outstanding communication from the host, who provided very clear and helpful instructions via email before arrival. Instructions, guidance, and useful touristic information are thoughtfully placed throughout the house, making everything easy and enjoyable. The rooms are very clean and well maintained, and the whole house has a warm, welcoming vibe and atmosphere. The house itself is truly special—staying there feels like living in a museum, full of character, history, and unique details. The location is excellent as well. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates authentic places with a story.
Beautiful facility, room very comfortable, quiet, used kitchen equipment for Christmas dinner.
Did not see the owner. I think you need to greet and welcome all of your guests!
The house was very clean and generally comfortable. It was also peaceful despite there being other guests in the house. I was there to visit my daughter who attends ASMS. The location was perfect for me because it was so close to the school. The ASMS Winter Formal was being held the night of my stay. My daughter wanted me to take some pictures of her and her best friend in their dresses before they headed off the event. The house ended up being so cute that we took pictures there before heading off to the park she wanted to go to.
The bed in the Catherine room was too firm for my personal taste. I also found the room to be too cold, but the easily accessible extra blankets provided a solution to that. I don’t know about the rest of the house, but the WiFi signal was very weak in the Catherine room. My phone couldn’t even find the network sometimes. I also had my Chromebook with me and had trouble loading webpages.
Extraordinarily furnished and charming decor.
The only ghosts were the owners/host. There was no personal contact with anyone else living from check in to check out.
Remember this is a byob stay. That's Bring Your Own Breakfast. The the instant oatmeal was stuck inside the packages and the grain bars undated. The instant expresso maker did work well tho. But this is not the place for the true B-N-B experience. Not a value for the nightly price. Overall, would not stay here again.
