Beautiful country pub! We received a friendly welcome when we arrived and check in was smooth. We stayed in room 5 which was simply stunning. Everything about the property was perfect and clean! The food in the evening and at breakfast was also incredible- a top stay!
There is limited parking directly outside, however we did manage to park on the roadside a little further down. Not a huge problem at all, just something to be aware of (they do state this in the booking documentation)
Great value. Clean room , well equipped. Very good evening meal and breakfast.
Front facing room available bit noisy from road traffic on warm evening with window open to cool room.
Staff
Proximity to busy road
Nice staff, very polite and happy to help. Very clean room. Hot drinks making facilities in the room, if you needed anything (e.g tea bags, milk) you just asked at the bar and the staff were on it! The inn and the room had what we needed for the price.
"Breakfast included" is toast, yoghurt or cereal - a clarification on what is included would be appreciated rather than have the surprise in the morning.
Disclaimer: These following niggles are from the perspective of someone who brought 2 large dogs: The only access to the rooms is up a narrow winding staircase with heavy fire doors at the top and bottom, which made it quite awkward to take the dogs up and down. There is no grass or green space on site or nearby so it meant we needed to walk to find somewhere for the dogs to go. We found it quite awkward walking the dogs through the pub to get to our room when it was busy with patrons - we noticed on a walk that they had a gate to get in through the beer garden which was much better, it would have been appreciated to have been made aware of this to avoid coming through the pub. I wanted to include this as if I had known the layout and the access I wouldn't have booked here with the dogs so it's a PSA for other big dog holiday makers. If you have a little dog you can carry up, it'll be great!
It was fabulous, we arrived early and got a lovely warm welcome from Courtney and Sharon, asked if we could get Sunday lunch and it was no trouble at all. Our room was ready for us, we were shown to our room and given fresh milk. Room no. 5 was spotlessly clean and with super soft super white bath sheets etc. So we settled in, freshened up and went down for lunch that was delicious!
Through out our weeks stay all the staff were lovely, breakfast choices were abundant and once again delicious, the chefs know what they’re doing for sure, alongside the 3 evening meals we had, again fantastic choice. Also great cocktails 🍸
It was our wedding anniversary and they provided an ice bucket for our several bottles of champagne.
Extra, towels, refreshments and biscuits were provided when needed and nothing was too much trouble.
Nothing at all.
The room was nicely decorated and modern. Good size. The pub itself is also well decorated. Staff are very friendly. Breakfast was good. And evening cocktails.
We were in the front room, near the road, and there was traffic all night long. We had the window open because it was so hot in the room. Evening meal was disappointing, but the lovely young lady serving us very kindly took it off our bill.
Hotel was clean rooms were updated recently food in pub was really good pub had a lovely atmosphere and was nicely decorated
Not much parking but we didn’t have an issue - rooms were very hot but we were there in heatwave! A fan was provided though
Everything. Staff were friendly and polite. Nothing was to much trouble.
Food was excellent with a wide selection of meals .
Cleanliness exceptional.
It was so good we are going to go back.
Many thanks Kate and Alan Bryan

The room was in a good location for the event we were attending. The staff were quick to sort our room out upon our arrival. The room was modern in style and clean. It was quiet and comfortable.
The best part of the stay was the lovely breakfast in the morning which was included in the price. The service was great and the menu catered for everyone. The food was very tasty and there was plenty of it.
Despite the more remote location, it was easy to get an Uber to our event.
For a short stay to attend a wedding, The Hare and Hounds was great.
The hot weather meant the room was very warm, and there is no air con. The rooms, although well-equipped are small in size and so it felt a little bit of a squeeze at times - but this should be expected given that they are above a pub.
Room was lovely decorated breakfast was good and food in evening was excellent
Excellent. Staff brilliant. Food beautiful. Room spotless. Could not ask for more.
If been picky car park on the small side. But nothing to get out of bed about.
Great location for Liverpool to Leeds canal stopover.
Staff friendly, excellent food.
Although weather was hot, room was too hot, one window had notice not open, needed a fan.
Breakfast was excellent, particularly the hash browns, better quality sausages would finish off perfectly.
Very glean and very nice
Nothing, although kitchen has been closed shortly after 8 on Saturday evening and we could have any food
Come al solito era perfetto 😘 era la terza volta che sono andata là....
Staff and building were excellent
The noise from the road - I'm a very light sleeper
Excellent food ,
