Forest Tree Top Holiday Resort

A great find . Guesthouse is set in a the trees on the rage of sugar plantations and jungle so it is an amazing quiet hideaway . We loved the breezy open plan house that is open to nature .and just chilling in the hammocks of down by the river. Bhattyia is the most amazing host and runs very fairly priced safaris to the quieter areas of yala - he is extremely knowledgable about the local area and wildlife He will share photos of your your safari that he takes on his fancy camera . His mum is an amazing cook and although the meals are slightly pricier than in some guesthouses, the quality and quantity is outstanding so it’s actually great value. We enjoyed the tour of the fruit gardens snd tasting new exotic fruits . I would have liked to stay longer .

Esperienza incredibile immersi nella natura e nella pace. Bhathiya e la sua famiglia sono gentilissimi e super ospitali, ti fanno sentire a casa. Si percepisce la passione per gli animali e il rispetto per la natura circostante. Il cibo preparato dalla mamma è delizioso e super abbondante. Le esperienze di Safari e giro dei dintorni sono indimenticabili. Lui ha una pazienza infinita per farti vedere tutti gli animali durante il Safari, inoltre è bravissimo nel trovarli e spiegarti tutto su di loro. È un’esperienza unica nel suo genere perché l’alloggio è semplice ed immerso nella natura incontaminata. Fatevi un regalo: andateci!

Il posto si trova in mezzo alla jungla e ai campi di frutta ,il proprietario molto gentile e disponibile ,orgàizza tutto lui dalla colazione(fantastica) alla cena ,al safari ,è stato l'hôtel piu bello di tutta la vacanza,una vera immersione nella natura .

De host en zijn ouders zijn prachtige mensen die elke gast een unieke beleving willen geven.
Het voelde als luxe en verwennerij op alle vlakken.
De safari’s , het diner, ontbijt, huis, bedden, …. Alles was gewoon top.

The treehouse is nestled right in the middle of lush nature, surrounded by banana plants and towering trees. While it’s actually a ground-level concrete house with its own bathroom, the absence of outer walls creates an open, immersive connection to the natural surroundings. Next door, you’ll find the family’s home and their lovingly tended garden, adding to the authentic and welcoming atmosphere.

Breakfast was prepared with such care and generosity that we couldn’t finish it all, despite how delicious everything was. The family even woke up at 3 a.m. to ensure we had a hearty packed breakfast to take with us on our safari to Yala National Park. Dinner was equally delightful, made with fresh ingredients straight from their own garden. In the afternoons, we were treated to fresh bananas, homemade biscuits, and a choice of strong, aromatic coffee or tea.

Even though the property is set within an expansive sugarcane plantation, it feels as though you’re in the heart of a national park. The Yala National Park (Gate 4) is just about 30 minutes away, making it an ideal location for wildlife enthusiasts.

Bathiya is simply the best host you could imagine. He dedicated so much of his time to us, always attentive and thoughtful, yet never intrusive. As an exceptional guide, he took us on his safari truck through the vast sugarcane fields to hidden lakes, where we witnessed stunning sunrises and sunsets. His deep knowledge of the local birds and wildlife enriched our experience immensely—we spotted countless birds, two fishing cats, a jungle cat, and even numerous elephant tracks.

Anyone who loves nature will feel instantly at home here. Many thanks to Bathiya and his parents for an unforgettable stay.

An amazing location and above all an amazing host. Bhathiya has a deep connection to the area and is extremely knowledgeable about the local birds and wildlife. A highlight was the evening drive through the cane fields to watch birds coming to roost around a lake. There is also a magical river by the property where you can relax and bathe to cool down. The food, cooked by Bhathiya’s mother is very tasty and plentiful.

When people ask us about our trip in Sri Lanka, the first thing that pops in mind, is our days with Bathi and his parents, at this lovely fruit plantation, deep in to the sugarcane plantations.

Nat his mother cooked us the biggest and most delicious feasts, and our kids felt safe and relaxed to play around the garden, catching frogs and coconut shells, playing in the river and pretending they were driving Bathis open jeep.

He took us on a safari in Yala, birdwatching by sunset and also gave us a ride to the local doctor when our son had an ear infection.

We stayed there for two night, but wish we would have stayed for longer.

Thank you again for this unforgettable experience, with the absolute best treatment we had during our trip. Everyone in Sri Lanka was very nice to us, so it really is a big compliment :) Hope you are well.

Я долго выбирала отель рядом с национальным парком Яла и остановилась на этом варианте, руководствуясь прочитанными отзывами и в дальнейшем во время переписки с владельцем отеля только утвердилась в мнении, это то, что нам нужно. Нам хотелось максимального погружения в природу - мы его получили. Батия и его семья очень добрые и душевные люди. Мама Батия искусный повар, так вкусно нас нигде не кормили. Приготовленные ею самоса мы будем долго вспоминать) Батия сделал все, чтобы наше пребывание было насыщенным разнообразными впечатлениями. Наше сафари на целый день, организованное Батия было самым ярким событием за всю нашу поездку. Я рада, что он убедил меня взять сафари на целый день, хотя сначала я хотела поехать только на утреннее сафари, так как боялась, что в силу нашего возраста, нам будет тяжело на 12 часовом сафари. Батия настоящий следопыт, мы обследовали все места, где можно было встретить леопарда и других животных, он был неутомим и поразил нас своим энтузиазмом. И хотя в этот день леопард так нам и не показался, мы абсолютно не расстроились, потому что увидели много других интересных животных и птиц. Кроме сафари Батия возил нас на своем джипе по окрестностям в поисках птиц, в один из вечеров мы видели как огромные птицы-носороги собираются на ночевку. И мы даже наблюдали ранним утром пролет многомилионной стаи розовых скворцов и майн над нашими головами. Это было феерическое и незабываемое зрелище!
Это экоотель, поэтому условия соответствующие. Мы жили на втором этаже, в нашем жилище не было стен в привычном понимании и от окружающей среды нас отгораживала только москитная сетка над кроватью. Зато днем туда залетали птицы, а вечером, когда погасили свет - светлячки. Ванная комната и туалет находились на первом этаже. Нас это не смущало, но предупредить я должна. Отель находится на берегу реки, в ней можно искупаться.

Amazing and unforgettable experience living in an open sided house surrounded by nature in the middle of a plantation.Bhati and his family were incredible hosts and our whole 6 day experience was beyond words, Breakfast and dinner was like a Sri Lankan banquet, (also afternoon tea /biscuits) you won't go hungry,(we brought snacks but didn't touch them)a brilliant mix of various vegetable curries, chicken, fish, Dahl, roti, fruits,curd etc.. Our full day safari was outstanding,we saw so many elephants,crocs and even a sloth bear.Bhatis vast knowledge and respect and love of nature is amazing always stopping the jeep to point out birds and animals, we didn't miss a thing.Slept amazingly well,nights were cool and comfortable under the nets and listening to the chorus of wildlife was just so peaceful.Evening jeep to the lakes was unforgettable,hundreds of hornbills, fishing cats and on one night a bull elephant.Bhati is an incredible young man and does everything to make your stay magical. We feel very lucky to have been able to spend time there.10 out of 10 all round.

I can only agree fully with the many positives of other guests.

Although The accommodation is quite simple and is basically a camping in an unique setting, everything works, the beds are comfortable, with good mosquito nets, it is very clean. Breakfast and dinner are both outstanding. In the night it is totally quiet - except for the elephant that came to munch banana trees one night. The price is right for the accommodation. The price for breakfast and dinner is very fair.

The real standout however is the owner Bathyia who is an absolute gem. On our sri lanka trip we met many kind, hospitable, engaged people but I can’t imagine how a host can be more engaged, more open, more welcoming, more relaxed, more professional or more accessible than Bathiya. We did a half day safari in Yala and the evening bird safari with him and he made it our favorite day of one month travel in sri lanka.

Wonderful host, wonderful food, amazing rooms and location. Bhathi and his family went above and beyond to make sure we had an outstanding time.

An amazing experience right next to Yala National Park, in the middle of sugarcane plantations and surrounded by unique wildlife that you can spot during a jeep tour around the hotel. I received an incredibly warm welcome, and both breakfast and dinner were absolutely delicious. I would definitely recommend it – it was one of the highlights of my trip through Sri Lanka!
