Brilliant locstion in the city, Outstanding period building. Very good breakfast, apart from the coffee.
Rather a small room, but that couldn't be helped. Likewise the absence of a lift, so lots of stairs.
Bathroom rather cramped, with not enough shelf space for toiletries, and no proper soap.

Our room was very nice with a small living room portion and nice sized bedroom and bath. The breakfast was delicious also. The patio out front is lovely and was a great place for our group to gather for drinks before exploring the town.
Room(inside) staff location
Room 15 opened to an outside yard adjacent to back kitchen and staff entrances no privacy and very noisy, bins moved at 11pm and constant comings and goings from 5am
This is my second visit and we enjoyed it so much.
The staff are very friendly and the food is excellent.

Historic building , great location , friendly staff .good free quality products in the bathroom . prominent location close to resturants and the Shambles as well as York Minister . Gay friendly .
room 17 nice was quite but was not told we where at the rear with no view as it was our 10th wedding anniversary so thought we could of been put in a better room . as we paid £200 . ripped wall paper over radiator and i think the hotel could be more bespoke in place, flowers and fizz on arrival , it was a lovely place and the staff where excellent . a little tired in places with paintwork, the entrance steps could have been more imposing with plants .

Exceptional breakfast, great location
Our room was a bit dark
Booked for 4 nights. Had an accident on the second day and fractured my knee. They were absolutely amazing and moved us to a ground floor disabled room. Unfortunately had to check out due to mobility problems they could not have been more accommodating. We will definitely be returning in the future.
