Disappointing, lacking hotel fundamentals
Pros:

Well decorated, excellent location

Cons:

Housekeeping was not thorough. One night they didn’t even come by the time we got back at 5 PM. Another day they did come but didn’t do a thorough job - bed untidy, room in general disarray. Our first night the roof started leaking in the bathroom and I tripped on the puddle, which is a big deal at 7 months pregnant. The AC was out in our room when we got there. We didn’t get any sleep. They fixed it all the next day, which we appreciated. The valet didn’t offer to help with bags or open the door. The breakfast was stale. These are fundamental things that basic hotels understand. Lacking these basics are particularly disappointing when you are paying close to $600 a night.

Pros:

Lovely hotel great location
Pros:

Location is excellent for getting around the historical area on foot. The facility is very lovely and clean, and the staff was helpful and kind.

Cons:

If your the kind of person who would rather be self sufficient, rather have to depend on a hotel staff for everything this is not for you. We found out we are not the boutique hotel kind of people. We want a fridge and microwave for leftovers, and access to ice. Also, drinks that are less than 8.00 a bottles that are "provided " in the room. However I did enjoy the Nepresso machine in the room.

Great location, comfortable but overpriced.
Pros:

The location was wonderful, Historic Charleston with great walking nearby, the waterfront, excellent restaurants (magnolia), Charleston House or plaza. The staff was helpful and friendly. THe hotel was clean and projected high quality. The bathroom was terrific

Cons:

The breakfast was disappointing, very small but the essentials were there, grits with stuff to put in, coffee, orange and cranberry juice but the pastries' were ordinary and at a hotel which is projecting high quality not up to that level. The room did not have a true desk, a very shallow shelf with a telephone in the middle which could not be moved and not a true seat, also i dont think there was an outlet to the right of the bed.

Had a very relaxing weekend
Pros:

Great location, very central and surrounded by great restaurants, and a very easy walk to King Street and Queen Street. Quiet at night and slept well. Loved the luxurious bath robes in our room, and the Nespresso machine. The room was spacious and very comfortable.

Cons:

Shower did not get hot water one morning. Breakfast was limited, maybe due to lack of a kitchen? Eggs were cold, hard boiled only. Lots of pastries, but none were gluten free. Would have liked dairy free milk at the coffee / tea bar.
