SAND DOOR HOTEL

This was my 2nd stay at Sand Door hotel - I liked it so much I extended my time there and maybe spent about 10 days total at the hotel. The 2nd room was top floor and larger with 2 beds which was nice. Staff here is great and it's a very cool location in the old city close to many of the things you would want to see and restaurants etc.

Prime location. The hotel is within walking distance of many attractions such as the Basilica Cistern, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar, etc. not to mention near a list of great local restaurants and shops. The room was small but was very clean and had everything we could need, including a fridge and microwave. The owners were very nice and super helpful in giving us helpful tips on how we could best take advantage of the two days we had to spend in the area. Take advantage of letting them set up the transfer/taxi service. We didn't and the price from the airport to the hotel was way more than their price. I honestly just ran out of time and didn't feel right about asking them to pick us up same day. Coffee at the hotel was great! Overall, great experience. Will stay here again if in the area.

El personal nos atendió muy bien y nos dieron recomendaciónes sobre la ciudad y el transporte. Incluso nos lavaron la ropa ellos mismos.

I had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back! As a solo female traveler, I felt very safe and comfortable throughout my stay. The hotel was always spotless, and the entire staff was incredibly kind and helpful. A special thank you to the cleaning lady, who was so sweet. Everyone made me feel welcome, and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Istanbul!

We had amazing stay in Istanbul at Sand Door. The location, clean rooms - everything made our experience more than pleasant. The owner is very kind and also gave us some great advises on what to see, what transportation to use, arranged airport transfer and etc.. - thank you for everything! Whenever I am going back to Istanbul I will for sure stay again at Sand Door, highly recommend it to everyone.

The staff is very nice. Both young man and the owner that we met were helpful whenever we asked anything.
The location is pretty good. It's a walking distance from the Blue Mosque, Yenikapı station (where you can take a bus or a subway, and even a ferry that goes out of Istanbul), tram station and Grand Bazaar (the latter two you have to go up a steep hill though). There are a lot of cafes and shops around, some of them with good prices. All in all, there's pretty much everything a tourist needs IMHO.
The room was clean, we didn't notice any dirt.

This is an outstanding value to stay in the old town of Istanbul, very conveniently located near most of the popular attractions. I like this neighborhood of Kumkapi as it has everything you might need (lots of restaurants and convenience stores etc) but isn't 100% tourist focused like some others in Istanbul. The prices are better here and it has more of a "working neighborhood" vibe. The hotel itself is super clean with excellent amenities, things look new and well maintained. Comfy beds, nice AC, excellent staff - it's quiet too.

The owner Orshan (I am definitely spelling that wrong, sorry!) speaks perfect English and is a very nice guy who can give you a lot of great recommendations on what to do with your time in the city. He used to run some of the fancy corporate hotels in Sultanahmet and his attention to detail shows in the way he has set up this independent hotel and how he takes care of his guests.

I ended up extending my stay here and stayed for over 10 days or something. When I come back to Istanbul I will certainly stay here again and highly recommend it.

Отель очень понравился, хороший ремонт в номере, было чисто и уютно😊 Номера действительно небольшие, но это не самое главное в случае, когда отель - просто место для сна)
Было всё необходимое: очень комфортная кровать (что размер, что матрас), чайник, две кружки, фен, сейф, мини-холодильник, сахар и чай докладывали при уборке, которая производилось по просьбе, то же самое касалось и туалетных принадлежностей, в ванной все также было чисто, хороший напор воды, отсутствие плесени, чистые полотенца. Единственное, что хотелось бы, чтобы присутствовало в номере это: хотя бы одна тарелка и столовые приборы.
Местоположение отеля неплохое, примерно 10 минут до трамвайной остановки и около 20 до метро.
