Ok Stay
Pros:

I stayed here for five nights during my world bicycle tour. Overall, this is one of the better hotels in Kars, with comfortable rooms and good facilities, but I found it significantly overpriced compared to other hotels in the city.

The restaurant is beautifully designed, but unfortunately the food was both very expensive and disappointing. I paid 2,000 TL for the mixed grill platter, but after just a few bites I couldn’t continue eating it.

One of the biggest challenges during my stay was communication. The restaurant staff spoke virtually no English, and the same was true for the breakfast staff. I had breakfast here for five consecutive mornings, and not once did anyone greet me or even say hello. The front desk staff also spoke very little English. I understand Kars is a smaller city where English isn’t widely spoken, but as a hotel that welcomes international visitors, having staff with basic English skills would make a big difference.

A small example of the communication issue: I ordered a dental kit and was brought toilet paper instead, which summed up the language barrier quite well.

My departure experience was unfortunately the most frustrating part of my stay. I had booked a non-refundable rate that had already been paid in advance through Booking.com, yet the front desk repeatedly insisted that I had not paid and kept asking me for payment. I had to show my bank transaction and my Booking.com confirmation several times, but the staff member continued to say I hadn’t paid. Since he spoke almost no English, it became a very stressful and uncomfortable situation. Thankfully, my Turkish friend was with me and helped translate, otherwise it would have been extremely difficult to resolve.

The hotel has a nice swimming pool, but there are separate hours for women in the morning and men in the evening. A swimming cap is also required, and if you don’t have one, you must buy one for 100 TL.

Cons:

Overpriced. Staff doesn’t speak English.

Хороший отель для данного города, неплохие завтраки, есть подземная парковка, спа, удобное расположение.

Cons:

Вид из окна был на стену, заселили в номер с 2-мя отдельными кроватями, пришлось сдвигать - спать было не очень удобно.

Cons:

The toilet seat was broken
The rooms were too hot and you cant control the heater. It is understandable that the winter is very cold temperature reached -13 yet tje rooms were over heated and its central so you can't adjust it.

Frühstück.

Das Frühstück wurde als offenes Buffet angeboten und bot grundsätzlich eine Auswahl. Leider mussten wir jedoch an jedem Morgen feststellen, dass insbesondere das Brot nicht frisch war. Wir hatten uns besonders auf die beworbenen yöresel Spezialitäten gefreut, vor allem auf Kete – diese waren jedoch ebenfalls durchgehend hart und nicht frisch.
Trotz eines entsprechenden Hinweises unsererseits wurde uns lediglich mitgeteilt, dass das Brot draußen gelagert werde und deshalb „erfriere“, was die mangelnde Frische jedoch nicht entschuldigt.
