Totally destroyed & ruined our experience.

Access after it closed was impossible due to a faulty lock on access gate - hence we could not gain access, no one available on given telephone number so ended up calling a relative to drive 25 miles to collect us and they put us up for the night. Hotel would not give refund !!!

Please be aware of this issue if booking?

Pros:

The hotel was in a fantastic location with a carpark right outside, staff was so friendly and could not do enough for you, probably made us feel welcome.

The food at this hotel was pretty good too, just remember don't over face yourselves with tapas dishes lol.

Central location - friendly staff - great room - beautiful breakfast
Pros:

Spotlessly clean. Excellent bar area and a really great breakfast. I grew up a few doors away so it’s great to have somewhere to stay in Wirksworth when I visit.

Delightful character pub, with beautiful rooms and lovely staff
Pros:

I pretty much liked everything. The room was absolutely lovely, comfortable, spacious, stylish and had everything I needed. Check in was swift and informative, food was delicious and the staff delightful. Honestly, one of the nicest places I have stayed in a while.

Cons:

My only very minor gripes are that it says there was parking, which there is, but you have to pay. Admittedly it is only a pound over night, but still would like to have known that. The breakfast was a bit slow, which I guess is down to most customers being on holiday, but I was working to a tight schedule and it was often pretty late. But as I say, these are only very minor points in an otherwise great stay.

On very busy main road with 12ton trucks going past at 6 a.m.I didn't realise that the road was so busy.
Car parking had to be in the public car park and the process of telephoning wasn't easy.Machine not working.

Good value comfy rooms and great team, just note the proximity to the main road.
Pros:

Good sized room with an excellent bathroom, comfy bed plus nice touches like fresh milk and water in a fridge and a quiet fan. Staff were great as was breakfast.

Cons:

The road is very busy with all sizes of traffic and thus noisy, despite secondary glazing in the windows, although earplugs were provided.

Very nice tasteful decor in room and modern bathroom

Room was very pleasing -beautifully dressed and very smart

Cons:

It was very noisy due to traffic - as room very close to road - efforts made by host in supplying ear plugs - great attention when checking in - By young lad - really obliging and pleasant helped me with my case , pre chose breakfast slot but self and other couple waited nearly 20 mins for someone to come take food order / tea- although there was cereals / toaster out other couple said it hadn’t been like that previously - slightly put off by cleaner hoovering when seated waiting for breakfast and mopping floor leaving strong disinfectant smell but she did stop what she was doing . Would have preferred a larger towel in bathroom
