Magnifique demeure avec un jardin à vous couper le souffle ! La chambre est immense. le petit déjeuner très bien.

la piscine est couverte. c'est un plus en hiver mais en été ...

This is a wonderful place for those looking to relax and enjoy the best the island has to offer.
Pros:

Great location by the cable car into town and back. Set in its own tropical grounds and with a defined old world charm, this is a place to unwind and relax away from the busy centre. The cable car is so busy with long queues to get to the tropical garden and you practically staying at their destination!

Cons:

What didn't we like? Leaving!

Einmal in Monte gewesen zu sein war ok.
Pros:

Tolle Lage oberhalb von Funchal

Cons:

Schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Das Personal war nur am Empfang sehr freundlich, sonst leider keine Herzlichkeit.
Die Spiegeleier beim Frühstück leider immer fast kalt und eingetrocknet. Der Rest ging so.

Très belle Quinta avec ses jardins et église, vue splendide de la chambre, beaux espaces communs , literie top, emplacement top, proche du jardin de monte palace.

Cons:

Piscine plutôt fraîche, non chauffée, et horaires de fermeture à 18h…. Plutôt restrictif. Jacuzzi qui ne fonctionnait pas . Personnel pas très accueillant, pas de possibilité de manger au restaurant car complet, 30 min pour avoir un verre de bienvenue au bar, et nous avons demandé un cendrier nous ne l’avons jamais eu.

Pros:

We had a lovely stay at Quinta do Monte. We had a very comfortable, spacious room, with a travel cot provided. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The setting is exceptional - beautiful views and an ideal location for exploring the Monte Palace Gardens. The steep roads are a bit hairy to drive up, but once you arrive the hotel is an oasis of calm. I'd happily stay here again.

"The shining" portugais
Pros:

L'endroit est magnifique ... MAIS sûrement il y a 30 ans. Il est dans son jus et c'est peu de le dire.
Le personnel est très sympathique.

Cons:

La propreté globale de l'établissement... Le Jacuzzi non fonctionnel depuis longtemps. Le barman qui ne savait pas faire de cocktail car il semblait être là et il fallait un barman (il a regardait comment faire les cocktail sur internet). Pas de machine à café ou bouilloire dans la chambre. LEs murs fins non insonorisé. Rien de grave MAIS pas au niveau imaginé de ce genre d'établissement. Un commentaire parle de "the shining" , en y étant il y a un air de ressemblance. Et évidement ce n'est aps un 5* , pour le 4* je en sais pas...
