We'd go back!
Pros:

The staff and breakfast were fantastic. The room we had being number 12 was a great size for a family of 3 with a medium sized dog. The rooms are old though and the floor slopes because of that but it wasn't an issue for us. The room was clean. The garden out the back with the fruit trees was massive and a lovely place to exercise the dog and let our child explore. There is so much potential and you can see the effort the staff are trying to make.

Cons:

This room is above the kitchen and they make a bit of noise which finishes late and starts early.
There were no dog poo bins in the garden and people had been lazy and either not picked it up or tried to make use of something that probably shouldn't have. You are not guaranteed a parking space and it does get busy, thankfully we timed it right and only had to wait a matter of minutes.

Old quirky hotel, great for visiting Bamburgh.
Pros:

Breakfast was good, staff friendly and helpful. Good location for Bamburgh.

Cons:

Hotel is old, so floors creak a lot, the bed was uncomfortable as the mattress was too thin. No USB sockets for today's tech.

Pros:

Old world charm and good breakfast
Pros:

Nice old building with plenty of character. Friendly and helpful staff
Very good veggie breakfast.

Cons:

Although there is parking, it was full so we had to park some way down the street. On the night we were there, there was no food available either at the hotel or anywhere in the village so it meant a drive to find food (the young man on reception did direct us to a decent place though!)

Ok for an overnight stay
Pros:

Staff were great. Loads of choice for breakfast (although it wasn't the hottest breakfast we've had).

Cons:

Rooms were dated and not particularly clean. Didn't use the bath or shower as it didn't look great. Bed not at all comfortable (bedding was clean). Floors very squeaky and we could hear everything from the room next door

Pros:

Perfect for travelling to Lindisfarne and Bamburgh, 15 minutes from the A1 which was great.
Clean and tidy, staff very friendly and food was lovely.

Cons:

Could do with a little work but appreciate this doesn't come cheap. Hot water took a while to heat up but again this is an old building. The positives outweigh the negatives

Great on both counts

Cons:

There was an issue with the heating which was on for a large part of the time when it was unnecessary. It meant the bedroom and bathroom were a bit sauna like. Staff explained that they needed it on to heat external buildings which I understood but it did mean that our room was a lot hotter than necessary. Probably fine a month later but in Sept was too much....

Pros:

The location was good.

The meal in the restaurant was excellent and well priced.

Cons:

We were initially in the annex outside the main Hotel. The rooms were in poor repair. The TV was tablet size. No tea bags, lacking toiletries. WIFI would not connect because of the distance from hotel.

On complaining we were moved to a room inside the hotel that was a lot better.

Pros:

Breakfast was lovely ,the staff were very pleasant,

Cons:

Was very hot we couldn’t adjust the heat ! Bathroom could do with being updated, had read a few negative reviews after booking so was pleasantly surprised when we arrived as it was a lot nicer. . It’s a very old building and probably very expensive to maintain. We paid £95 for 2 b&b
