Everything about my stay here was absolutely fantastic! The workers were all so kind and helpful and the food was absolutely delicious. The location can’t be beat either! Pros:

During our trip to Beijing, we stayed at the Xinxiang Yayuan Courtyard Hotel. The experience was far beyond our expectations, and it was well worth every penny.

It has an excellent location, tucked away in an old hutong. It’s really close to Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and Wangfujing, within walking distance to all the scenic spots. The streets outside are bustling, but the courtyard is wonderfully peaceful. It’s such a lovely escape from the busy city.

We can’t praise the staff enough. They are warm and genuine, never cold or formal. Check-in was quick, and they happily told us where to find authentic local snacks nearby. They helped with our luggage right away, and responded promptly whenever we needed anything. We felt totally at ease during our stay. Noodles and wontons are available all day long, and the traditional Beijing noodles with soybean paste are absolutely delicious.

The rooms are quite spacious, never cramped at all. Everything was spotlessly clean, decorated in classic old courtyard style. The rooms are bright and airy, perfect for a good rest after a long day out.

What we loved most was the courtyard itself. We would wander around whenever we had free time. We could feed the koi fish in the pond and watch the birds. Sitting outside enjoying the breeze, we truly felt the laid-back lifestyle of old Beijing, and it’s also a great spot for photos.

The food was also fantastic. The breakfast had a wide selection, including lots of local Beijing snacks, tasting just like home cooking. They also serve afternoon tea with small pastries and tea. Enjoying it slowly in the courtyard was absolutely delightful.

All in all, everything was perfect. It’s ideal both for travelling and relaxing, and for experiencing real courtyard life in Beijing. We will definitely come back again next time we visit Beijing.

Un magnifique hôtel au cœur des hutongs
Pros:

Cet hôtel est un vrai écrin de paradis au cœur des hutongs. Le personnel de l’établissement est adorable et aux petits soins. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié Guo qui a été toujours disponible tout au long du séjour. Le petit déjeuner était délicieux et composé de nombreuses spécialités pékinoises. Les lits étaient très confortables.

Pros:

Hotel niesamowity, wyjątkowy. Ze zwykłej ulicy wchodzi się wprost do bajkowego świata. Niezwykle uprzejma i serdeczna obsługa, pokój duży, gustownie urządzony. W hotelu jest ogród wewnętrzny i taras, na którym można się wyciszyć. Kameralne śniadania w stylu chińskim i pyszne herbatki serwowane w godzinach popołudniowych.

Cons:

Jedyny mankament to duża wilgotność w pokoju i zacieki na suficie, które wystarczyłoby pomalować dla pełni szczęścia.

Great but too short. Off to another city
Pros:

Loved the appearance and decor of the hotel. Located in an ancient hutong but updated property. The staff were great and very accommodating. We had a tour and they made breakfast to go for us since we wouldn’t be there for the scheduled breakfast at 7am. Kids loved the two birds Dodo and Laifoo.

Cons:

Nothing it was great. Only thing is most cabs won’t be able to drive in due to the narrowness of the street because it was in a hutong.

Excellent accueil dans le centre de Pékin

Excellent accueil du personnel, très aimable et serviable. L’afternoon tea et le petit déjeuner sont très bons, avec une grande variété de plats permettant de se découvrir des spécialités pékinoises. L’ambiance est calme et reposante, et l’hôtel est situé dans un hutong calme à 10mn à pied de 2 stations de métro, permettant de rejoindre facilement la cité interdite, le temple du ciel, Sichaihai et la gare.

A place like this makes any vacation better!
Pros:

Wow, what an unexpected highlight to our trip to Beijing! We admit, the initial impression was concerning as the taxi driver wasn't sure of the location and dropped us off in an alley, but as soon as we went through the doors, we were delighted. What a unique little place to stay. It wasn't a big fancy hotel, it was a small, perfectly decorated slice of China. And although the facilities were excellent, it was the staff that made this an 11 on a 1-10 scale. They were so focused on making us feel welcomed and attended to everything. The breakfast was outstanding with a good mixture of authentic Chinese items and some "western" items. They were always quick to offer a drink when returning from a hot visit to the sites or to arrange travel if requested. The room was very comfortable and relaxing and the rain head shower was wonderful. I would highly recommend and encourage a traveler to give this place a try.
