We enjoyed hiking in the brisk weather and plan to visit again in the fall to see the beech trees.
Pros:

We used the kitchen in our condo for making our own breakfasts three of the four days we ate breakfast while on the mountain. The last morning we enjoyed breakfast at the Deli in Fred's General Store. We enjoyed the location being on top of Beech Mountain. Also we enjoyed the hiking trails on the Mountain. The views from the top of the mountain were beautiful and the condo was comfortable.

Cons:

It would have been nice to have a better view from our balcony. Even though we had a very limited view of the mountains from our balcony, the view was mainly of the maintenance building. We didn't have to go far to have spectacular views all around us.

Make sure all amenities are available prior to booking!
Pros:

The beautiful views and spacious condo.

Cons:

All amenities were closed. We were told the hot tub and sauna were closed on day of arrival due to a water leak. Come to find out, the pool, game room, sauna and hot tub were closed. We were also told that these amenities were closed all of April every year, not because of a water leak. These amenities were the whole reason we chose to book Stringers Peak. Had we known this prior to booking, we would have chosen a different place. My boys were very disappointed. We had to drive quite a ways to find other things to do for our children due to all of these amenities being closed. We also had to spend a lot more money finding these alternative activities. Very sad.
There was also quite a bit of mold in the master bathroom, shower. I cleaned this up multiple times, however, it would be back in the morning. I took pictures and sent it to the owner so hopefully it will be gone before someone else stays in this condo.
