Very comfortable older style hotel.
Pros:

Lovely old style hotel. Large comfortable room and bed. Food (dinner and breakfast) was excellent. Shout out to Josephine in the bar, who was so warm and friendly. Easy walk down to the river, which was pretty.

Cons:

No information in the room about hotel services eg dinner, breakfast, what was offered at the leisure centre etc.

The staff upgraded our rooms to the front two suites which were gorgeous and so comfortable!
Pros:

The front desk staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and to help us enjoy our stay! The food at their restaurant was excellent and the service was attentive and all very nice and accommodating. The grounds are peaceful and beautiful. They have their own car park with ample space and easy river access. The rooms were very comfortable.

Cons:

Nothing comes to mind that was unsatisfactory.

A lovely stay, enhanced by dealing with Josephine.
Pros:

Nice hotel and grounds. The room was generous, bed comfortable and all amenities. Plenty of parking. Reasonable pub-style food. The highlight of our stay was the barperson/ waitress Josephine. She was charming, friendly and engaging - and amazingly efficient. She was doing the job of three people - at the same time maintaining friendly exchanges with several patrons. She should be proud of herself - as should the hotel cherish her.

Beautiful location, hotel cottages were perfect for our family group, and the staff were phenomenal. Everyone we met was so kind, welcoming and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. So family friendly and staff were fabulous with our little ones!
