Estaba un poco alejado de zonas turísticas, pero bien comunicado por autobús. Lo único cercano a pie es el castillo Nijo.

No tea or coffee given in room or at reception, house keeping only on request even for a 3 to 4 day stay but towels were replaced daily.

Good quality hotel. Location excellent.
Pros:

Good location for covering a lot of Kyoto sights either by foot, bus or metro
Buses close on Shijo Dori
Nearest subway at Shijo or Hankyu-Omiya station

Quiet – very good sound proofing, even though the hotel is on a busy road junction

Further information
Travelling by taxi to/from the hotel to/from Kyoto Station costs 1600 Yen, plus 300 Yen if you order the taxi beforehand. Lots of taxis available at the station.
Travelling on the subway requires cash for either the day pass (1100 Yen/ Pers) or single journeys (220 – 300 Yen depending on distance)
Bus 207 goes from Shijo Dori to the Kiyomizu-dera: the tempel of pure water. Get there before 8.30 hrs otherwise you will be overwhelmed by the crowds of school children and tourist groups.

Check beforehand which days the Kaiserpalast is open (varies depending on official visitors). Well worth a visit with an excellent English guided tour at 10hrs and 14 hrs. Entrance free. Tour cannot be booked, just turn up.
Botanical gardens – really worth a visit away from the bustle of the city centre – rose garden, rare plants in the conservatory, 70 sorts of bamboo.

No breakfast at hotel, but Japenese and European breakfast places within 100m from hotel.
Rooms are large and comfortable.
