Hotel a pleasant surprise and exceeded expectations
Pros:

This hotel turned out to be a lot better than the negative reviews would suggest. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable with clean new bedding. Clean bathroom with toiletries. Kettle and tea/coffee provided. Also a drinking water dispensing machine in the corridor outside. Staff were pleasant and tried to be helpful in ordering a taxi to airport at 0430 but it seemed a complicated process so I resorted to Grab. Booked and paid for a taxi in advance via Grab but when the departure time came a message arrived saying no drivers available. Did a repeat immediate booking via Grab and a driver appeared within 7 minutes. So why was Grab saying no drivers available when I booked in advance?? Moral - don't rely on them if you have an early flight.
Location outer suburbs but a brand new KFC type restaurant has opened next door with cheap reasonable food. 15-20 mins to airport

For the price nothing. Rooms not as bright as photos would suggest but mine was perfectly satisfactory

Zeer matig hotel, maar daar is de prijs ook naar.
Pros:

Locatie was prima om de volgende ochtend naar de haven te gaan voor Maratua. Het bed sliep redelijk.

Cons:

De kamer, beddengoed en handdoeken roken heel erg muf. In de nacht was er een stortbui en kwam het water op twee plekken door gaten naar beneden in de kamer waardoor het bed nat werd. Faciliteiten waren ook zeer minimaal. In de wasbak en douche lagen lange zwarte haren die niet van ons waren.

Location good for the airport and good value.

Cons:

The linen did not look clean or fresh! There is no hairdryer. The rooms are small. The staff not keen to be super helpful. Second time of staying here, two days apart and I had hoped the second experience was going to be better sadly not!

Affordable and good for one night before going and leaving from Berau for the islands.

Cons:

There must have been some sewer problem and there was a very bad smell all through the resort and bathrooms.
