Very average stay, not a great experience.
Pros:

Pool and gym area were lovely.

Cons:

For the price, we were very disappointed. The rooms were quite average and the beds were uncomfortable, particularly in the twin room where they were small. The motion sensor lights on the walls turned on every time someone got up, which was disruptive. The shower pressure was poor, and the food options were limited.

Very comfortable and location is right in the cbd.
Pros:

Excellent service from wo to go.
I was given a very soft, excellent quality topper as the mattress was a Little hard for me. Great service.
Everything was high tech - buttons on walls to control everything: curtains, lights, air conditioning etc.

Cons:

We missed fresh air. Sleeping in air conditioning doesn’t suit us.
Two small plates in the room would be helpful for cutting up fruit etc. However, I’m sure we could have asked and it would have been provided.

City short stay.
Pros:

Our overall experience was lovely. We stayed for 3 nights. Friendly, attentive and efficient staff, both at the desk, breakfast, and the door (concierge parking). Breakfast was very good and very reasonably priced. Our room was very comfortable, well serviced and exceptionally clean. Bed was very comfy with lovely pillows. The bathtub is deep & luxurious. The complementary minibar was a very lovely surprise. We had room service one evening and that was very enjoyable and tasty.

Cons:

Nothing to complain about.

I didn't like the restaurant that the hotel was promoting on level 4 , in fact they were just atrocious, Not worthy of rating .

The room and view were excellent. We had very good breakfasts. We dined at 3 of the restaurants while we stayed. Generally found The Star to be a welcoming place to stay.

Great view, beautiful rooms shit parking.
Pros:

River side rooms are amazing, spacious and luxurious

Cons:

You're paying $667p/n to then use your players card on the floor to get free parking to then be told that you have to be out by 6am for that to have even worked. Meanwhile the star app and login doesn't work so when you are spending money in the hotel - which btw the restaurants attached to the star but not inside the casino are not a part of, so don't try to use your card there even though they are accessible through the app- it's not logging it anyway.
It's all just a little bit unfriendly to users. The parking thing irks me to high heavens because parking should be attached to rooms in the hotel and just by being a member and hotel guest you should automatically get free parking.

The room and river views were excellent.

Cons:

Our stay was marred by a domestic dispute (possible DV)in the room next to us. While we appreciate this was beyond your control, it is unlikely we will stay again. We hope the lady involved is safe.

Additionally, we found the shower pressure from our last stay was amazing and one of the reasons we chose to stay again for our kid free getaway. This time however, we did not find it the same.
