Pros:

We stayed 4 nights at this Ryokan Hotel and we loved everything about it, the best hotel of our 3 week Japan trip. The location is very central yet super quiet and relaxing, the staff was very attentive, the breakfast each day was amazing: lovingly presented and explained very well by the staff.
We had the room with the small private onsen, which made our stay even better, the room was very big and decorated nicely, the beds were very comfortable.
There were free drinks (fresh fruit juices) and homemade snacks available throughout the day.
There is also a Gelateria with great ice cream and special flavors (try shizo grape).

Top notch amenities but graveyard nearby cast a dark cloud on stay
Pros:

We loved being close to Gion and we absolutely loved the amenities of the property, they provided amazing high end Japanese skincare and face masks that you could use every night after showering and using the en suite onsen. The en suite onsen was an especially beautiful touch and the water was changed every day. The rooms were so clean and felt brand new with all state of the art appliances. The complementary water was also nice touch along with the free coffee machine and snacks near the lobby area.

Cons:

We opened our window in the morning and found a graveyard right outside of our window. It really left a bad taste in our mouths especially since most of the reviews don’t mention them and the rooms are quite expensive. We were surprised breakfast didn’t come included at the rate we were paying and we also were surprised there were no dinner options when we arrived. There was a flood on the bullet train tracks on our way from Tokyo to Kyoto so we didn’t get to the hotel until 8 pm and had to take an Uber to find dinner somewhere about a mile and a half away from the hotel.

The whole experience was magical. The private onsen, the semi-open air experience (onsen), the traditional yet modern amenities, and the breakfast was amazing. It was also in a great location.

Las habitaciones, muy cuidadas, amplias, con un gran onsen en cada habitación. La ubicación y su entorno

Cons:

Inflexibilidad del personal (en concreto de la que parecía la jefa). Si el área común estaba disponible hasta las 11:00, eran las 11:02, seguía abierto, todo estaba aún sin recoger y únicamente quería beber un zumo un día de 36 grados. Me persiguió por el pasillo para impedirme la entrada.
Booking: aunque en booking seleccioné 2 habitaciones con 2 personas en cada habitación, al hotel le llegó sólo con 1 persona por habitación. Ok, no es la primera vez que ocurre, esto es algo que Booking debe mejorar. Pero es que la diferencia de 1 persona por habitación a 2 era bastante mayor de lo habitual en otros hoteles, unos 50 euros por habitación y noche.

Pros:

I loved that it was in a quiet area of kyoto, yet not too far from the city itself. It was absolutely beautiful, a place I would definitely go back to when I visit Japan again.

Fantastic Hotel
Pros:

This was such a nice and unique hotel. From the moment you enter you feel so welcome and the staff are extremely friendly and attentive but discreet. It is in a great location in the old town and walkable to everything but tucked away in a quiet corner of it. The rooms are spacious and the in room onsen is a great addition. There’s a nice lounge space with complimentary snacks, coffee and wine. Can’t fault this hotel would definitely recommend and stay again.
