Breakfast very good 。healthy and fresh server excellent
Wonderful location in a historic building
We had a riom under the eaves with a very small window and given the current heatwave had a very uncomfortable night’s sleep.
Every single staff member that we spoke with was extremely kind, welcoming, and really keen to help us out with whatever query we had! We got checked in very quickly, and we're super happy with our room! The room was clean and tidy. We had a fan provided and a few extra cute little things that made us feel even more welcome. More importantly, the bathroom was also very clean.
Dinner-wise, the menu was quite large with a lot of choices. Portion sizes were great, taste was excellent, and staff members were very kind and welcoming once again! For the breakfast, the pick and choose table was quite limited, however, one was speaking to the waiters, we were allowed to get the basic breakfast items like egg or toast.
There was not much to dislike about this place, however, a few little things worth noting:
- The tiny milk bottle left in our room for coffee had gone a little sour due to the hot day.
- The room didn't have a tiny fridge, which we expected it to have, but that was no big problem as we just asked the staff members to put our food in the big fridge, which they did.
- The service at the restaurant took slightly longer than usual, but that was also offset by their kindness and great food.
Brilliant stay - was an emergency booking when our plans were forced to change. Excellent facilities and very professional staff and lovely food. Thank you!
All was great.
Amazing little hideaway. Rooms were fab and the staff were great. The whole place has a really chilled vibe…. The service , food , live singer were exceptional. The “gold dust “‘is the beer garden and dining area. Truly worth this visit alone
The breakfast was excellent and the staff were helpful. The rooms could have a bit of refurbishment.
Rooms were ok
Stunning setting, building and outdoor seating areas were exceptional
U.K. hotels really have to adapt to climate. Hardly slept due to the stifling conditions in the room. There was a fan provided but it was totally inadequate. Hotels need air con for rooms. I didn’t spend £170 to suffer a horrible night in the room. Yes it’s very warm weather - but not acceptable to expect customers to accept being boiled alive!
Excellent breakfasts and great choice of evening meal menu. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Great location and lovely setting by the mill pond.
Couldn't fault anything!
Lovely room, beautiful setting, beautiful building, lovely staff, good food, very good value for money.
Very limited options for food if you are gluten free and QR code didn't seem to be accurate. The rooms were very hot.
Lovely room in the separate block, far away from any noise. Really clean and comfortable. Free water in the room and a fan for the hot weather. Towels changed on both days we stayed. Lovely outdoor drinks / dining area. Had dinner in the restaurant on the first evening and the quality of food was excellent. Service started off a bit slow but it improved. Very efficient bar staff.
I have no complaints.
Everything
AC mobile unit did not work
The property is beautiful and the outside space is lovely. Walking distance to Nailsworth. Room comfy and nicely designed.
The lack of air conditioning and inability to open a window any more than a few inches - there was a fan in the room which helped a little. The hand held shower head broke off when we turned it on. The lack of breakfast included in what is a high priced hotel. It’s an overpriced hotel for the facilities on offer.
Pretty room, nicely fitted out, and lovely location.

All good
All good
We booked one of the loft rooms with the exposed wooden beams, which looked full of character. Unfortunately, we arrived on a very hot summer's day and the room was like a sauna, with small windows that barely opened. Thankfully, Holly and Ben were incredibly helpful and kindly moved us to a much larger, cooler cellar room in the hotel's outer building at no extra charge, which made our stay much more comfortable. Hand made cookies in the rooms are a delicious!
I believe these are the Classic Rooms, which cost a little more but are well worth it in my opinion, more spacious, more modern and much more comfortable. The loft rooms would probably be great for most of the year, but during summer they really need air conditioning, and the décor, carpets and bathrooms could do with a refresh.
Dinner in the beer garden was excellent, with great fish and chips and a good selection of beers, while breakfast was top notch. Friendly staff throughout, a lovely place to stay, and Nailsworth is a great town to wander around and explore.
