The room was exceptional - superbly decorated and more a suite than a bedroom. Staff were very friendly.
The chef had left so there our dinner reservation was cancelled, but Victoria helped us with a selection of great restaurants in Cowbridge
The White Lion is a gem. Amazing luxurious accomodation, great location. Thank you Vicky for looking after us.
Lovely stay in a beautiful pub. Chef had worked out and left the landlady in the lurch so she went above and beyond to make sure we were fed and watered. Superb.
I did book last minute and the host did message to say breakfast was continental and also the restaurant wasn’t open that evening. I didn’t see the message unfortunately so went and checked in anyway.
Beautiful room, very comfy bed, huge walk in shower and very luxurious and clean. Little seating area outside the room for all guests and fridge with Continental breakfast in and fresh milk was also OK.
Easy to park in a car park adjacent to property.
Quiet area away from busy roads.
The fact there was nowhere to eat in the evening without driving to another property - had I understood this from the website I would have stayed elsewhere as last thing I wanted to do was travel again after travelling for a few hours - the host did contact me after I booked but I’d already paid and was driving at that point. I just think that people might be dissappointed (as I was) travelling to an Inn that then can’t serve food.
Also, no TV in room? Fabulous room with huge bathroom and lovely comfy bed but no TV? This does seem odd indeed.
Also, was impossible to get VAT receipt for my work. The lady I was in touch with said the owner had told her I had to get that from Booking.com - Booking.com state that only the owner of the property could issue a VAT receipt.
My work usually insist on getting the VAT receipt when claiming for expenses so this was so
What frustrating.
The room was great but I’d be cautious about staying again for the reasons stated and at £115 per night, I sort of would expect a TV???
The room was like a suite and very nice with a shared kitchen area.
The pub didn't have a chef and meant I had to go out and get food. A breakfast was provided.
The room was great - big and clean with comfy bed and big bathroom- really impressed. Easy to let ourselves in at night as came back at midnight so pub closed and posted key through the door when we left at 9.30 am as staff started work later.
the only thing that was marginally annoying were the main bedroom lights as prefer lights with lampshades but just turned these off and used bedside lamps so no problem.
Also kitchen closed so no cooked breakfast and the continental breakfast was left in the fridge for us overnight and wasn’t very nice.
Just ate the packaged croissant as we were hungry and left the rest. They did warn us day before arrival that kitchen was being renovated.
The room was super, very comfortable bed, large suite, spacious bathroom with a large shower (overhead or standard shower). Sofa bed was very useful (I was kicked out of the main bed by our baby). Nice set of rooms, very well set out. There was a surprise shared kitchen, with a nice coffee machine, which was nice. Only popped down to the bar briefly, but I'd have been very happy to eat there if we'd not eaten already. There were a few spaces left in the car park so very useful - right next to the pub.
There is no reference to a TV, but could have been useful to watch something at the end if the evening (we just watched a bit of west wing on the laptop). The room is above the bar so a little noisy until about 9.30 / 10pm - our little one wasn't overly settled until around then so made no difference in practice.
Beautiful room just like a boutique hotel 😍
Nothing
Staff and food amazing, the room was lovely and i did not want to leave
Nothing
The way we got treated. Cleanliness super . Very charming gorgeous place . Fantastic Food. What else you need ?
no breakfast which was fine. where was the tv?? had my laptop but no tv???
no tv
We loved the private access from the car park. The decor in the double room was beautiful. It was obvious the facility was newly renovated. The shared kitchen was a big plus giving us table, chairs and facilities for hot drinks including kettle, coffee machine etc. We loved the huge bed which was really comfortable. The room and bathroom was spacious. The staff were extremely welcoming.
We stayed on a particularly cold night. The room was serviced by 2 small radiators which although they were hot did not provide enough heat to comfortably warm the room. We were cold.
We failed to join the WiFi.
Very clean and well decorated
No lightbulb in bedside light. Tap loose in washbasin. No breakfast.
Very nice en suite room
No television and Wi-Fi did not work upstairs. Connected in the pub but lost signal by the time you reached the bedroom. Not good.
Lovely suite, very comfy bed, lovely en suite, super clean
Only downside for us was no tea / coffee in rom - have to use small kitchenette outside room shared with other rooms so not ideal would prefer in room facilities for this
Also no TV in either the lounge part of suite or bedroom
There is no breakfast
I think the accommodation was over priced
