Would stay again but avoid weekend if sleeping there .

Cons:

Advertises breakfast but it’s not available , noisy Friday and Saturday until 1am in the morning . Food ok but over priced . Friendly hard working staff .

Quirky with pleasant staff and near the high street
Pros:

easy access to pleasant high street

Cons:

we were warned that on Friday night there would be loud music until 12.30am which we understood, however the music was very loud causing the room to shake at times

Strange very strange needs managing and cleaning all just very unprofessional

It is snazzy inside but that’s where it ended I’m afraid.

Cons:

When we arrived we were asked to pay more money. They said we owed a balance but I had paid it days before. The gentleman that I spoke to there was very nice, but said he would have to contact someone as the price could not be correct. I did show him my booking etc. so for me my contract was with booking.com. I messaged booking .com as I was concerned they never hit back to me. We were lucky to park as virtually no parking there. No option for breakfast as they have stopped doing it. So we had to go elsewhere for food on two mornings. The room was not serviced have never stayed in five star and not had tea tray replenished or bed made? When we came down to leave absolutely no staff in sight. It’s a very strange set up to say the least. We didn’t hear anymore about the payment from the hotel not even a courtesy note to tell us that everything was fine, if I had paid the full amount that they stayed we owed(even though we didn’t I would have been very disappointed). Five star? No 3!

Stayed there as we were at at wedding at gaynes park - really easy to get to gaynes park from the funky monk

Disappointing
Pros:

We didn’t eat at the property, the location was great.

Cons:

The room was dirty and dusty with cobwebs everywhere on the inside of the windows, there was glass on the floor, the towels and robes were crispy and hard, no water pressure to take a reasonable shower or bath, coffee, tea and milk not stocked up, no soap in the bathroom. Definitely not a 5star.

Pros:

Situated on Epping High Street but with a car park to the rear, the place has a great feel to it. The room we stayed on made the most of the original layout of the building and managed to include private bathroom which was small but absolutely fine

Great location, very helpful friendly staff and a nicr old building with querky features.

Cons:

We booked a deluxe double room. Although the room was comfortable enough, it was very small with plugs in the wrong places for any real purpose. The rain shower in the room lacked any pressure and appeared broken.
