Pros:

Pleasant, comfortable hotel near old town Mombasa and Fort Jesus. Breakfast was quite good with lots of options. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Comfortable beds, quiet room. Our room overlooked the street but we had no issues with noise. The hotel restaurant and room service options were reasonably priced and were probably quite good; however, we opted to be adventurous and ate a late evening meal at a small street-side kiosk about a block away. Good grilled meat and chapati for a super low price. A short walk to old town, which we took the next morning. The street life can look chaotic, but walking though the narrow streets of old town is quite interesting and, I believe, safe. The Swahili's are pleasant and not pushy at all, unlike some touristed areas of Kenya.

Cons:

The only complaint I might have is that we were hoping to watch the World Cup game that evening and the TV reception was quite limited.

Pros:

Breakfast and the staff at the restaurant were really welcoming

Cons:

Hot water was not available on day one of my stay and took 3hours for engineer to come to fix.Lady at the reception was kind enough to extend a late checkout.

Premium Inn Mombasa City offers a comfortable stay in a convenient location.
Pros:

Breakfast was great. The offerings were honestly more than I had anticipated, so I feel that I got more than I bargained for. In terms of a healthy spread, fiber, carbs, and proteins were all present. The service at breakfast was also great.

Cons:

There isn't much that could have been better. The only hiccup was when I returned to my room on the second day to find that my key card wasn't working. However, a staff member quickly helped get my card up and running again.
