The staff could not have been more accommodating. I traveled with my 8-year-old son, and they even took him into the kitchen to teach him how to make parathas and another dish (I wish I remembered the name!). We felt genuinely welcome and looked after.
The lobby is fantastic—colorful and funky in design—and the games, like table football, were a great touch. We ended up meeting lots of people just by playing together.
The pool was a must for us as we traveled in a hot month. We spend many hours and really enjoyed the food. Very tasty and a mix of India meets the West.
When in Mumbai we cannot recommend this hotel too much!
There is always room for improvement, but in this case I would really need to dig deep to come up with suggestions.
location and lobby bar are nice. room, bathroom, bed were comfortable. Breakfast was good.
Tried to have a drink at the pool at 8:30 pm but the music was way too loud. I think the music should be creating a nice vibe but a rooftop pool should not be = a nightclub with deafening music and large speakers. I went to the Fairmont close by, to eat dinner at Pana, was excellent.
Rooms were very nice and clean. Bathrooms were amazing, shower was powerful and hot.
It was a 'fun' hotel which isn't quite what I had in mind, however it was a novel concept
The level of security in and around the hotel.
Having traveled around India for 8 weeks before we reached this hotel. None of the hotels we stayed at attempted to take payment from my credit card till we arrived and secured. The Moxy was the exception!! They tried to take payment 2 days before we arrived and sent me a email saying my card was declined and threatening to cancel my booking unless I gave another card. I was forced to give my debit card details ( not as secure) to make sure the booking wasn’t cancelled.
The payments was taken straight away.
It’s strange how I used my credit card on arrival to secure further payments on food and drink!!
We are in the Marriott club and stay at Moxy hotels.and we like the brand and everything around it. However this is a Moxy by name but I’m not sure it fits the brand. It’s a hotel built for Indian business people and the breakfast and set up mirror this. As a foreign tourist you’ll pretty much have toast and egg which might hit your palate!! the rest !!
You expect Moxy hotels to be more expensive drinks wise but this one was way above the average( business customers) geared towards.
The breakfast was decent, nothing to write home about. The facilities were clean and the rooms were big enough.
Loud music in the lobby and the elevators. The price is high for the location and services they provide.
Cool hipster decor, very youth-ey vibe. I arrived much earlier than my scheduled check in, but seeing how tired i was, the staff was super kind and allowed me early check in at a reasonable price. Really appreciated that!
The location is great, close to clubs and cafes.
The bed was very comfortable and the room is decently sized for one person. The staff was very attentive and eager to help. The breakfast spread is decent.
A wardrobe would be useful. Would have liked more menu options at the restaurant and for room service.
Great location and very attentive staff. The hotel is an ideal base for exploring the area, with shops, restaurants and transport links just a short walk away. Every member of the team I spoke to was friendly, professional and quick to help with any requests, which really made the stay feel welcoming.
The central location.
Nothing to add.

Proximity of the location was good, but there was drainage smell even inside the hotel
The rooms were too tiny for the price point, bathrooms were too congested. The floors in the bathroom did not appear to be clean. We’re coming from Toronto and I did fly from Bangalore. Bangalore has much better, clean hotels spacious for less price.
Positive: The towels were very nice, and the bed was clean.
Areas for Improvement:
The pool wasn’t very clean—the cleaner just moved around without actually doing any cleaning. Also, the dry cleaning service is a rip-off. Reception quoted €10, but they charged me €140 because they had me sign a paper (in the rush, I didn’t read it) stating €10 per item, making the total 10 times higher.
Positive Aspects
The staff were generally very friendly and attentive, particularly the gatekeepers, reception team, and cleaning ladies. Everyone spoke English well, which was a plus.
Food and Menu Issues
The food was excessively spicy, despite my specific request for it to be mild. Staff, including reception, seemed unfamiliar with the menu items—even basic ones like fried chicken—which suggests either limited English proficiency or inadequate training on offerings. Breakfast was disappointingly too Indian (we could only eat bread, butter, and jam), lacking variety for a five-star Marriott; more options beyond Indian food would be expected and should be clearly stated upfront. Also there is no ham, pork or beef. Only mediocre chicken and fish, which in the breakfast buffet was horrible.
Service and Pricing Concerns
Reception should transparently state all charges upfront to avoid overcharges. Room service, for example, was significantly more expensive than menu prices due to unmentioned taxes added afterward. Staff also demanded immediate payment upon delivery to the room (cash or card) without offering options like charging to the room, which felt intrusive.
Pool Maintenance
The pool was not very clean, and the cleaner worked around swimmers in the middle of the day rather than during off-hours.
Overall Note
While Mumbai’s food scene is challenging, a luxury hotel should exceed basic expectations.
