Very friendly and the room and food was great.

Immediately made to feel very welcome. Food was very good indeed.
Staff, food, beautifully presented rooms, peaceful location
Small bathroom (and no hand soap!)
In a very quiet location, tucked away in a tangle of country lanes, the Barking Buck is a very well restored inn offering comfortable rooms and a copious Full English breakfast. Friendly and very helpful service.
The building actually looks nicer than in the official photos - it’s quite historic and the facade has been lovingly tended. The interior is also well maintained and the owners have successfully cultivated a traditional rural pub style.
Nothing significant though a bit more choice of breakfast (eg some fresh fruit) would be welcome.
Clean, friendly, food was amazing! Big shout out to the chef, Mark the owner couldn’t enough for us, Jack and Charlie the waiters were awesome. Beautiful setting, lovely and quiet. Room was superb and a comfy bed, highly recommend

This place is an absolute hidden gem. We stayed for one night and had the most lovely time. Staff are attentive and welcome and the food is incredible. We had a evening meal and it was one of the nicest meals I have had. Breakfast was good also.
Breakfast on Sundays finishes at 8.45am which is too early for us but check out was flexible so that was a positive.
The food and service were excellent. The host was friendly and helpful.
The interior needs updating, decor and floor coverings. The bedroom was ok but the bed was very soft and the pillows not comfortable, only 2 pillows on a double bed but as I was travelling alone it was ok. The shower worked fine but the cubicle is very small, it all needed some tlc and updating.
The fan was a welcome addition in the hot weather.
the restaurant food excellent

Great dinner. Superb food - the best prawns I've had in a long time and all the food was so beautifully presented. Great beer garden with small pond/lake
A bit worn and not like the pictures. No veggie breakfast
My husband and son stayed here for an event they were attending. Said the food was absolutely outstanding, as was the hospitality from Mark and his wife. They had a fabulous dinner and breakfast.
Location, attentive service and food was excellent

Lovely venue right in the countryside. Mark was incredibly welcoming and we were made to feel at home with a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Room was incredibly comfortable and spacious. Drinks at the bar were a reasonable price and love they had local beers, gins and rums to try!! We had dinner there too and the food was great with loads of choice and portion sizes good. Room had tea and coffee facilities with plenty of supplies which was nice. Plenty of parking on site. Grounds were lovely as well.
Not so much a dislike, more minor feedback - a second bin would have been good near the tea and coffee rather than either having to carry teabags to the bathroom or keep moving the bin from the bathroom and back again. In the bathroom there was no towel rail - somewhere to hang a towel would have been good.
Lovely quirky old building.
Friendly and helpful staff
Good food.
A few minor issues in the older room we were in could be easily fixed, eg difficult room lock, poor shower draining.
Was lovely from beginning to end, called on route to check if we wanted a table for the evening allowed early access free to come and go with a lovely breakfast in the morning
The service from the moment we arrived was exceptional lovely welcome from Mark which continued throughout our stay.
Sam (think that correct name) behind bar was also excellent making sure we had everything we needed and bringing drinks out into the beautiful garden for us.
The evening meal, wonderful choice and excellent price for the great quality of meals.
