Stilvolles Hotel am Loch Maree
Pros:

Lage direkt am See. Das Essen war sehr gut. Die Gemeinschaftsräume sind sehr gemütlich. Parkplatz direkt vor dem Hotel

Cons:

Zimmer sehr klein und leider total überheizt. Die Heizung wurde aber in der Nacht gut zurückgestellt.

Lovely Loch Maree with a pat on the back for staff there.
Pros:

Stopping off at Loch Maree fitted us perfectly en route with our NC500 Holiday. We were greeted warmly by the front of house young chap who also turned his hand to the bar and the restaurant. Our room overlooked the car park but we didn't mind because it was quiet, clean and comfortable. Facilities were really good. We ate in their restuarant and were happy with our meal which we felt was good value. Afterwards we sat in the room next door talking to fellow travellers from abroad. No sooner seated than staff lit the candles for us and made us feel welcomed.

Cons:

I can't say we didn't like this but the Chef went AWOL for breakfast the following day. Our front of house young chap was so apologetic and understandably worried because no one knew where the disappearing chef was at the time. However, as a guest we really can't complain because the breakfast fare laid out on the table was more than satisfying anyway. In order to make things right with guests, the hotel offered us discount on our meal the previous evening and really who could complain at that. We liked it here and would not hesitate to visit there again.

Don't miss this place. It's a gem.
Pros:

This is a hotel with a soul. A proper Scottish experience, genuine and true, from the wonderful staff to their sublime cuisine. We paid much more along our NC 500 tour in other places that can't compare with this one. A real highlight of our Highlands journey.

Beautiful location with lovely loch trails and amazing food. The 2 bedrooom cabin needs work to bring it up to standard.

Location and the food.

Cons:

We stayed in the 2 bedroom cabin on the side of the hotel. Mistake - the hotel rooms are apparently much better. Musty and felt like hadn't been used for a while. Badly in need of some repairs including the mushy spot in the bathroom floor. Food was amazing though.

Cosy country hotel with great views and access to nearby trails- friendly welcoming staff
Pros:

Staff were great - warm welcome and very helpful. room as advertised- small but adéquate - I had single room with ensuite. Small hotel with ni lift, as advertised but lots of parking outside so just took what I needed upstairs to my room. Was dated as expected, but Lovely view over the garden and loch, and a cosy bar and lounge area as well as the gardens. Had a lovely carrot and coriander soup for dinner - delicious. Unfortunately the chef did not arrive in the morning - of unknown whereabouts, so no cooked breakfast, but they were most apologetic and was given a generous discount and the coffee and continental breakfast was adequate. In my travels it is increasingly apparent the difficulty in getting enough staff in the context of housing crisis and increasing Airbnb’s-- nowhere for them to live which is sad and a lot of places struggle with this, especially in more remote locations- I had a great stay and would stay again if in the area.

A great host with a wonderful stay!
Pros:

Pretty much everything, the setting, the comfort, dinner & bfast were lovely. But the big thing is the host -Duncan, he is everything good about customer service, professional, knowledgable, but also inviting and able to talk with you. The whole staff are to be commended. I had a great couple of days exploring as I drove the NC500.

Cons:

Queen Victoria must have been a small queen as everything is scaled small. But that’s just architecture- no complaints.

Pros:

Great location next to Loch Maree and on the North Coast 500. Room was small but nice with a great view.

Cons:

The dinner was horrendous. The waitress was hopeless and kept getting orders wrong. My hot starters were still frozen. Our main was child portion sized and the salmon was under cooked. Bill was wrong. That said the breakfast was actually very good.
