Hotel Hvide Falk

Sometimes you don't need to stay at a hotel to appreciate how well they treat their guests — even when those guests are ultimately unable to stay.

We simply want to thank Hotel Hvide Falk for the understanding, kindness and consideration they showed us. The way they handled our situation meant a lot to us.

That alone is enough for us to know that next year we want to try again to finally make it to Ilulissat and, hopefully, be able to stay at Hotel Hvide Falk.

We stayed in an apartment, with own balcony, directly on the shore with the best view ever. We sat at the balcony every evening enjoying the view.
The apartment had everything we needed, we really enjoyed it.
Staff at the reception was friendly and always ready to help.

Centrally located, also right by the Albatross Arctic boat launch, so booking excursions through them is easy and convenient (it is worth it to not have to walk to the harbor for other excursions). Great view of the harbor and bay. Rooms are modern and the curtains blocked the midnight sun very well!

I found this hotel overall to be a great option for me. I liked that it was very walkable to everything but a little off the main drag and therefore quieter. I asked for a quiet room and the staff did try to accommodate that; I heard some noise from nearby guests occasionally, but it was not bad. I also liked that the hotel is right next to/affiliated with Albatros, who led some good tours I did. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, and the free hotel shuttle ran frequently and reliably. My room was comfortable and fairly spacious with a good shower (not always a given). The balcony is shared across the whole floor (wrap-around balcony) but if you want more privacy while still getting air, you can keep your door closed and open a small window. (The room was warm so I did want some air.) The wifi was occasionally bad but mostly quite reliable and I was able to take one video meeting without problem. The quality of the breakfast was pretty good. I had their buffet dinner one night and it had a lot of options (numerous meat and fish/seafood choices) so it's great for variety. The hotel was quite expensive compared to similar hotels of the same quality in almost all other parts of the world, but this is standard for Greenland and to me it was worth it. My room faced the city but the view from the dining room over the water is lovely. I'd stay again if back in Ilulissat.

Fantastic location with great views. Friendly, helpful, professional staff. Clean good sized rooms. Restaurant food in evening was excellent. - not cheap, but fairly priced.with attentive helpful service. Good choice at breakfast. Shuttle service was useful for airport trip.

The room is comfortable. Views are terrific. Location is best in Ilulissat. Mini kitchen , stove, freezer and fridge was perfect for our stay. Staff very helpful. Loved staying in lower terrace rooms and enjoyed sit t ingredients outside every evening until 11 or so. Restful and peaceful.
