VERY(!) atmospheric. An ancient monastery turned into a hotel with a MICHELIN Guide restaurant is very high class.
Very friendly and efficient staff that make you feel VIP.
Very good breakfast.
Near the shore and a tiny distance from a day long cruise in the nearby lake.
Apple and plum orchard right by the hotel.
Have I mentioned that their restaurant is in the MICHELIN Guide?
The building is 300 years old, thus no elevators and very limited ramps for the impaired. The upper rooms are reachable only by a very narrow spiral stair case. Not for elderly or disabled people
Location, history, staff, my bed
There wasn’t anything
Breakfast was amazing
Quite a magnificent destination and known for its especially fine food.
The rooms are very good, though they are built into the roof of a heritage building, so if you’re after a sweeping room with vaulting windows, this place is not for you. But, forgive it for its sloped ceilings. It’s a truly unique place to pitch. Bed was comfy with lots of pillows and good quality linen. Bathroom layout was fine (basin on the small side) but the shower was excellent: really strong and hot. Nice shower products too. Most importantly was the breakfast. I’m a very seasoned traveller and I’d say it was the most delicious breakfast I’ve ever had in a hotel. Quality ingredients, generous portions and all smoothly delivered by a helpful and friendly waiter. Plus the ambience of the room is really special. Greta was lovely too. She checked us in, gave us a brief history of the hotel and showed us to our room. Her English is excellent. That said, everyone we dealt with was wonderfully hospitable. Take time to visit the church as well. It’s a baroque masterpiece on your doorstep.
Pretty flawless. Nothing you can do about the shape of the rooms as the hotel is built into the building’s historic pitched roof. Maybe when it comes time to renovate consider how to put reading lights on both sides of the bed. Also maybe a bigger sink in the bathroom.
We made a reservation at Monte Pacis together with dinner, and it was honestly the best choice. Everything was taken care of, which made our stay completely relaxing and effortless. From the moment we arrived, we could simply enjoy the beautiful surroundings, the comfortable room, and the exceptional dining experience. It was wonderful not having to worry about planning anything - everything was perfectly arranged. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a special and relaxing stay!

Their restaurant is absolutely amazing. Fantastic food. One of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had.
Hotel location is very nice, surrounded by nature.
Hotel is nothing special.
Ekselentas brokastis, ļoti garšoja, interesanta vēsturiskā vieta
Viss patika
Fancy 3 course breakfast from a menu. We were on holidays and had plenty of time to enjoy it.

Fantastic opportunity to stay in this unique property. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Free parking near the door. The rooms were better than the photos, very large and quite opulent with little touches like free chocolates - although small windows (as it was and is a monastery). Beautiful setting. We ate in the restaurant which was stunning food but did take a very long time to arrive. Breakfast was great although way too much food for me and my teenagers - my husband went for all 3 courses!
Up spiral staircase with suitcases, although staff are happy to carry them up for you.
