Things changed when they saw I was black
Pros:

Extremely rude - the manager seems to not appreciate Americans. I couldn't check out and nobody was there to help me until I had to use Google Translate and make myself heard in German.

Cons:

Racist management - the worst experience I ever had in Germany.
