I had a wonderful stay here. From the moment I arrived, the hospitality was amazing. The host and the lovely staff who prepares breakfast and manages housekeeping were both amazingly welcoming, kind, and attentive to every detail.
My room was clean, comfortable, and remarkably quiet at night, ensuring a restful and peaceful sleep throughout my stay after exhaustive xihu trip.
I look forward to returning back some time in the future.
The serene surroundings of this xiaoqu (小区), located on the easternmost side of West Lake, were a real highlight. It is quiet and away from the crowds around West Lake, yet still within walking distance. We did not attempt the walk during our stay as it was simply too hot when we visited in late August.
Room 303 is an attic unit and we found it quite charming. One thing to note is the relatively high beam/step on the floor separating the bathroom/toilet area from the bedroom, which we estimated to be around 30 cm high. Guests who may have difficulty stepping over a raised beam may wish to request a different room rather than Room 303. Also, as the minsu does not have a lift, guests with large or heavy luggage may prefer to avoid the third floor.
We had a wonderful time chatting with the owner on our second morning. We found him a little unusual on our first night, when we returned at around 10 pm only to learn that he had already gone to bed, as he wakes up at 4 am the next morning. However, after chatting with him the next day, we found him to be an interesting person with plenty to share. He is still finding his feet when it comes to running the minsu, but we enjoyed our conversation with him and appreciated getting to know him better.
The minsu was taken over by a new owner, a retiree in his early 60s, just a month before our stay. As he is still settling into running the place, there were quite a few teething issues, some of which were not mentioned during the booking or check-in process.
Our booking included breakfast, but there was no fixed breakfast menu. While the owner was happy for guests to make requests, we were not quite sure what or how much to request, especially as this was our first experience staying at a minsu where the owner was still very much finding his feet. We also noticed that quite a few items were not prepared in advance, as the owner seemed to expect guests to prepare or help themselves to some of them.
That said, we could see that he was trying his best to manage the minsu on his own, and hopefully, with more experience, these teething issues will gradually be ironed out.

Very nice location on the quieter side of the west lake. Peaceful and calm environment. Clean rooms, two double beds suitable for my family.
Some choices with breakfast would have been better.
Staff was very friendly and trying to communicate in English using app. They had a menu from a restaurante close by and she helped to order food after I arrived tired late at night. Very good location close to calm area of West lake. Few restaurants close by and not super crowded with tourists as other regions of West Lake.
The room smelled like cigarette (but I guess this is a problem not only in this hotel but all the others I have stayed in China)

Unfortunately, I arrived at this charming boutique hostel in pain and unable to walk. If it had not been for the kindness and care of the host/manager, I don't think I could have got through the days. She mothered me, arranged for me to be driven to a hospital, fed me when I didn't want to eat because of the pain and generally took the greatest of care of me. She kept me company as I was unable to go out and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of West Lake

I spent 5 nights in this hotel. First, the responsible is very friendly and welcoming! She was kind to adapt the breakfast to my allergies, and was checking if I need anything or give me recommendations. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. And they offer you Longjing tea at anytime you want :) The location is perfect. You can walk easily to West Lake, there are beautiful places, parks (peaceful and not crowded during my time there) and locations to explore in both the right or the left directions of the main street. It's green everywhere in this neighborhood and the air is clean. Leifeng Pagoda is not far and I went by walk. You can also go to Longjing village by walk if you'd like (it would take an hour, but with beautiful scenery) or grab a bus or Didi/Taxi which are cheap. Wherever you go there's beautiful green scenery. There are some restaurants, a cafe and mini-market very close and also if you walk on the main street toward the right. I'm really happy with my stay in this hotel and its location, and I recommend it!

The localization is very good, close to beautiful Parks, the pagoda and temple. My host was very Kind and gentil, the room is very well equiped, confortable and cozy. Trully recommend! Bonus: the tradicional breakfast was delicious
