The location lets it down as it is on the main beach which is dirty in places (including discarded nappies, dog poo etc) with quite a few stray dogs. Also, you get hassled a lot by people selling things, which is understandable as they need to make a living but also made us feel uncomfortable. Warning, Ambatolaka is the main place for older European men meeting young Malagasy women. We explored other beaches and there are nicer ones (including the next one up - Palm) or in the north of the Island if your preference is for something quieter, cleaner and calmer.

Vi diranno che potrete andare a Nosy Iranja tutto il giorno ma la realtà è che vi abbandoneranno a una persona di quelle che stanno in spiaggia a offrire escursioni. Pretenderanno pagamento anticipato (quindi se poi restate sull'isola loro non hanno alcun interesse a riportarvi indietro, perciò vi tocca seguirli e basta). Bibite incluse solo a parole. In realtà ti rispondono che non le hanno. Te le daranno solo a pranzo. Un pranzo da consumare sull'isola di Nosy Iranja a base di pesce riso e mosche.
Arriverete a nosy Iranja alle 10.30 e alle 12.45 sarà già ora di mangiare.
Dopo che abbiamo mangiato, di testa loro, quelli della barca hanno deciso che dovevamo andare su un'altra isola. Nosy Antsoa. Cosa che l'hotel non ci ha mai detto. Il problema è che questo sistema è una sorta di acchiappa soldi per far vedere i lemuri. Noi non li volevamo vedere e allora siamo rimasti sulla spiaggia di Nosy Antsoa (isola spettacolare a due passi dalla Grand Terre). Ci avevano detto che saremmo stati lì 3 ore, in realtà quando hanno visto che nessun turista voleva pagare ci hanno fatto andare via dopo 5 minuti quando stavamo facendo il bagno. Siamo dovuti correre subito sulla barca altrimenti ci lasciavano lì. Dopo aver fatto presente tutto questo all'hotel, l'unica cosa che hanno fatto è limitarsi a farsi raccontare l'accaduto (che poi sono cose che loro sanno benissimo). Non hanno offerto uno sconto, o altro... niente di niente. Neanche le scuse. Quindi staff pessimo. Eccetto per la signora che la sera tardi ci ha assistito quando mia moglie è stata male. Lei è stata gentilissima.
Altre cose negative:
Una blatta gigante in camera. Fortunatamente abbiamo chiamato una ragazza che si occupa delle stanze e ci ha pensato lei.
Il balcone della camera è totalmente inutile. Impossibile aprire senza essere invaso da centinaia di zanzare.

Er zijn geen ligbedjes om lekker te liggen zonnen op het strand, dat is wel jammer. Het hotel ligt in een gebied waar veel sextoerisme plaatsvindt en dat is wel te merken aan het publiek.

Liegen und Sonnenschirme vor dem Hotel wären praktisch. Vegetarische Gerichte auf der Speisekarte fehlen.

From the outset, the tone was set negatively—unlike our previous travels including to remote locations worldwide, the person holding our name with the hotel logo was a porter rather than the driver. We were unaware of this arrangement until we reached the vehicle, where he unexpectedly requested payment. Ironically, we only handed over one of our four bags, as we prefer not to burden the drivers.

During our stay, we experienced several issues:

- No hot water during the designated times on the first two days.
- The hotel provided no information about nearby amenities such as ATMs. When we inquired, the directions given were incorrect.
- An empty green tea canister was in the room from check-in and was never refilled.
- Shower gel was not replenished during our stay.
- There was no bug spray available in the room. On some days, no one showed up to spray or to put up the nets.
- No hairdryer in the room
- When we arrived for breakfast at 6:30 AM, it took nearly 30 minutes for our order to arrive, leaving little time before the boat departure—defeating one of the main reasons for choosing to stay there.
- The breakfast area was being swept at 6:30 AM, which is too late; cleaning should be done earlier, or at least prioritize seating areas for guests.
- Staff refused to spray bug spray outside of set times.
- The water bottle provided was insufficient for two people, requiring us to go downstairs at night to refill. One night, we had to descend two flights of stairs because the water was unavailable on our floor.
- The stairs were poorly lit, creating safety concerns.
- Staff did not communicate effectively with the dive centre regarding timing schedules.
- Payment for excursions was not clearly explained; it was to be paid directly to the excursion company, which made it difficult for us and another guest who booked separately
