Wij zaten in kamer 30.
Overall, there was almost nothing I liked about the hotel. The only exception was the beautiful view of Lake Brienz, which was truly impressive.
The room was very small, outdated, and poorly decorated. The furniture and overall condition of the room felt old, and there was no air conditioning.
The hotel is also quite far from the train station. We had to walk approximately 1.3 km with our luggage and climb a short, moderately difficult hill to reach the property. This made the arrival experience very unpleasant and exhausting.
The bed was small and uncomfortable, and the room looked very different from the photos shown online. In my opinion, the pictures did not accurately represent the reality of the accommodation.
There were also many insects in the room. We were bitten throughout the night and woke up with headaches and several insect bites, which made it very difficult to sleep comfortably.
Overall, our experience was extremely disappointing. The hotel did not meet the standards we expected, and in my opinion, it felt more like a one-star hotel.
The meals in the restaurant were very good, and not as ridiculously expensive as many Swiss restaurants. The lake view and balcony were very nice. The refrigerator in the room was the best I‘ve ever experienced in a hotel; it literally kept everything ice cold!
From a value-for-money standpoint, it was terrible. I spent the equivalent of $408.00 U.S. dollars per night; I have gotten far better value for far less money in my travels all over Europe and the USA. and if the room rate wasn’t bad enough, they‘d try to nickel and dime you for every little thing. Most hotels I go to that have. pools, they‘ll at least have free slippers you can wear to the pool, and sometimes free bathrobes. This place? 10 Swiss Francs for the use of slippersand bathrobe. I needed to iron some shirts but found there was no iron or ironing board in the room, so I went to the front desk to inquire about one. 15 Swiss Francs to borrow their iron? They have got to be out of their ever-loving minds! For over $400 a night, those kinds of things should be standard. Not to mention the fact that there were no room safes or phones in the rooms. I believe in these modern times roof safes should be standard equipment in ALL hotel rooms. I also got stuck in my room when the security chain (they haven’t got around to doing deadbolts) on my door got stuck. After trying unsuccessfully for several minutes I was going to call the front desk; it was then that I discovered there were no phones in the rooms. Oh, and their bathroom facilities were so poorly designed, the medicine cabinet hangs out way over the sink, so that if you try to bend over the sink to wash your face or rinse after shaving, you’re going to scrape your forehead at the very least, if not open an outright gash on your forehead. They threw this room together with no thought of ergonomics at all. For the price they’re charging, this hotel needs to seriously upgrade the level of service. Sadly I cannot recommend this hotel.
Location was awesome , not too far from city centre and lake very easy walk. Loved the cozy feel of the grounds and the sauna and indoor pool was a huge plus! Breakfast was also great

Set on the side of a hill overlooking Lake Brienz with a lovely mountain backdrop. Very traditional hotel and really laid out well. Staff extremely friendly, well appointed room and easy parking. Although the car park does get busy. Evening meal was superb on both occasions and the restaurant owner a lovely chap who could not do enough. Breakfast was nice but I have had better selection elsewhere (no fried or poached egg option, omelette or bacon). Overall a very good stay and thanks to the wonderful staff.
Breakfast could have been better if I am being fussy. We also got woken at 6.45am by a lorry delivering clean towels. Not the fault of the hotel.
We got the upgraded room with lake view, hot tub, quiet.
May be the shower tub isnt suitable for everyone.
