The breakfasts were excellent.
The staff were very friendly, with the room being ready on time - with clean sheets, clean towels etc
The mattresses on the beds were far too soft to be comfortable (for both me and my 14 year old daughter). If you sat on the bed then the mattress would sink to the bottom. Neither of us were able to sleep well because of this.
We are found problems with cleanliness of cutlery / crockery.

Handy location, comfy bed and breakfast was superb. Accommodation was good value for money so can’t complain.
Lots of parking around the back but just watch out for the metal post when you exit! Ouch!
The location was ideal for what we where doing
The fact that the back door at top of fire escape was left OPEN with a fire extinguisher but more so it is NEVER locked (no key given to guests) as this is the way in/out after the main pub closers

The room is nice, with oak beams etc. Beer in the pub was good and very nice beer garden.
Room is very noisy - not just from the pub, but the floor is really creaky, as is the furniture. No shower (listing on Booking.com is incorrect). Not suitable for anyone over 6 foot!

No continental breakfast, fruit and cereals. As it was very hot in the evening the room window was open so people talking outside could be heard until about 11.30pm.
The bed was fairly comfortable
As soon as we arrived outside was not exactly as the pictures perceived it to be. The kids area was full of rubbish and generally looking very unplesant. There was broken furniture out and rubbish on the floor. We walked passed piles of rubbish which included open pizza boxes with left over pizza inside on out way to try and get checked in.
There was a very over powering smell on our way to the room and inside the room which turned out to be some very very strong liquid fragrance.
The room was small which isnt the end of the world, but the lighting was terrible coupled with a small window made it tricky.
The shower looked awful. Small and old. It had obviously had the old tiles painted over and the sealent and old screw holes in the wall wernt exactly appealing. The wood to the back of the toilet is all black and rotten looking.
The restaurant was dead and the bar nearly as quiet. Eating there didn't look to appealing so we went out.
Both nights there were rats in the walls running behind our heads which obviously wasn't nice - mabey back and too to the left over food outside?

Very old country pub/hotel full of character situated opposite the village green. Great pub atmosphere along with excellent food and a a good range of craft beers. Rob the owner and the staff are very friendly and immensely helpful - even arranging an Uber for me at 04:30 in the morning!!
