The location
The beds are small, rooms are tired
This is a nice hotel with good facilities and a busy friendly atmosphere.
bar etc vibrant and busy
Property is very convenient to where we needed to be.
We paid for an upgrade on a double room. It wasn’t quite what we expected. No window in the room just skylight which wasn’t very good as the room was extremely warm at night and we couldn’t leave them open. Also shower was leaking onto the bathroom floor. On leaving we informed reception . Also a few cobwebs up in the skylight.
Slightly bigger room, possibly lighter coloured walls and tv on wall?
Piccolo hotel con molto sapore tradizionale. Il pub dell’hotel molto semplice ma ottimo sia nelle pietanze che nel servizio. Very scottish!!
The hotel is in a great location and has some wonderful staff and selection of local spirits in the bar.
The hotel has been decorated Al over in a brown colour and is very depressing and dull, not sure how staff enjoy working their as it must be depressing at times, the carpets and other furniture are in need of a good clean, I suppose the reason for this colour of brown is to hid the fact that the carpets are grubby as is the overall appearance of this hotel, which I have to say is a shame as I remember when it first opened the colours schemes were fantastic, the tartan used made this a place visit. The restaurant offer was always excellent I would have to say that currently the food offered has no flavour and is very limited.
The staff were extremely helpful especially I didn't get his name wore a grey suit couldn't be more helpful
Me and my wife were over from France visiting family there was a wedding that was on amd they were quite rowdy outside continually swearing and openly taking cocaine!!!! I paid for late check out as had a long drive but your house keeper at 11.45 chapped on the door and opened the door it woke myself and my wife up which really annoyed us as I had a very long drive ahead

Atmosphere on second day
Great in- room pizza in first night
Lack of atmosphere on first morning
Limited breakfast menu and buffet on first morning ( this changed as the new menu was launched on our second morning)?
Some shabby curtains in the honeymoon suite and shower maintenance issues which unfortunately weren’t resolved while we were there

Excellent value for money
Plenty of parking
Lovely area - very quiet as we slept with the window open (it was a rather small room and warm ) and we also went for an evening walk and it was lovely
Food at the hotel was lovely and reasonably priced
Cost didn’t include breakfast and couldn’t justify £17 extra
Small room but not a big issue
