Unusual food. Excellent breakfast.
The homemade granola with blackcurrant compote was delicious. A good contrast of sweet with the sharp berries. We enjoyed the homemade sourdough toast and the cooked Welsh breakfast was also perfectly cooked and presented. A lovely sunny, light room surrounded by the garden. The evening meal was also excellent with a good variety of options with each course. The fish and beef mains were delicious as was the chocolate dessert.
The raspberry dessert didn't meet my expectations. Certainly not as good as my partners chocolate dessert.
Excellent stay. Enjoyed our taster breakfast. Feel of luxury & very tastefully done. Fabulous bedding & towels.
The rooms we had were the attic rooms with sloping roofs and my husband is 6ft 4 ins so a slight problem with head height.
We would have enjoyed tea and coffee making facilities in the room but we couldn't find them. The couple we were travelling with did however have it in their room .
The welcome was warm and service was delightful. The property was full of character a charm and the relaxing atmosphere was wonderful.
The celling was a bit low in room 9 which could have caused a nasty bump to the head, but agin it is part of the property’s character, so it did not bother us too much.
The breakfast was amazing .. it really set us up for the day :-)
We also ate in the evening and had the A La Carte menu and had some very tasty dishes.

Great location, friendly staff who were very helpful and great food

The room (Room 4) was very comfortable, with peaceful decor. The only slight drawback was being above the kitchen door and extractor fan, but that was barely an inconvenience. Downstairs lounges extremely comfortable and relaxing. The food (6-course taster menu) was exceptional. The staff - despite being short-handed the night we were there - were very attentive, informative and friendly.

Friendly and very helpful staff; restaurant and food were really good both for dinner and breakfast.
Only minor gripe was that the bathroom fittings are a little tired - chipped enamel in the bath etc. but nothing to materially detract from our stay which we enjoyed enormously.
The whole place is exceptional well kept inside & out. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Breakfast was superb.
Exceptional service lovely and clean. The bed was super comfy all the amenities I could want. Don’t forget to eat at the restaurant as you will not regret it food was stunning and service impeccable
