Disappointing service for such a beautiful place
Pros:

The location at the beginning of the Bay of Kotor, the renovation of a small fortress, a place rich in history, the terrace, the beach, the apartment room just in front of the sea

Cons:

Lack of empathy at reception, ok at the restaurant however the table service is slow:
Access by car is difficult, especially when you follow Google Maps, which leads to a dangerous road. But the major drawback is that when we called the hotel, they didn't simply tell us to follow the signs for "la plage de Rose » Rose Beach and then you have to walk across the port for about 300 meters. We would have taken a small bag for two nights instead of lugging around with two large bags in 32°C heat. A welcome drink would have been very much appreciated, especially since there was no bottled water in the room.

We booked to stay here for 2 nights in May and received a call at 8pm before our booking to say there had been a fire and that they had cancelled our booking!!

We booked to stay here for 2 nights in May. 8pm the night before we were due to arrive we had a call to say there had been a fire and they had to cancel our booking.
We were understanding as this was unfortunate and luckily arranged a stay in the Agape hotel in Rose.
Imagine our anger when we walked past the forte rose the next day and saw that rather than a fire you could see it hadn’t been opened yet for the summer and all hotel clearly nowhere ready for any customers!! Still lots of decorating going on!
It then took multiple calls and chasing by booking.com to get a refund!
Avoid this hotel!!!

Beautiful location but…
Pros:

Location and view are amazing, a 10/10.

Our room wasn’t ready and we got an upgrade with a beautiful view.

Cons:

Rooms have a few problems. Slightly older furniture that could do with an upgrade and air conditioning that causes the room to smell FOUL. Keep the door and windows closed at all times or you will be invaded by bugs! These bugs bite and we were COVERED in bug bites upon leaving.
Privacy concerns, we had a LOT of random people not staying at the hotel peek in or open the gate to the private balcony and hang out on the “private” swim area.
We came slightly before the main season so we got woken up by construction and couldn’t use the private swim area in front of the room because of construction which wasn’t done when we were told it would be.
We had to ask several times for the maid to clean our room and for outside chairs to be set out. Finally I found the maids myself, got more toilet paper myself, and set out the chair myself.
Restaurant wasn’t open and the breakfast was as VERY limited.
The poor staff needs more support, they seemed very under staffed.

Romantischer ruhiger Urlaub
Pros:

Die Ruhe einzigartig ! Das offene saubere Meer. Das Personal hat sich bemüht auf Wünsche einzugehen. Leider passierten immer wieder Peinlichkeiten, die für ein 4 Sterne Hotel nicht akzeptierbar sind. Das Essen hervoragend.

Cons:

Keine Vor Infos wegen der schwierigen Anreise zum kleinen Fischerdorf Rose. Am besten das Auto in Herceg Novi parken und mit dem Boot rüber fahren 20 min, ansonsten mit Auto und Fähre in Hochsaison 2 Stunden. Am Pool konnte man keine Getränke oder Snacks bestellen. Wir hatten in der Steinvilla ein Zimmer. Die Küchenbelüftung war so laut, dass wir uns nicht unterhalten konnten. Als ich das Problem ansprechen wollte, war an der Rezeption niemand. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt nicht.

Unbearable music everywhere.
Cons:

There was unbearably loud music everywhere: on the beach, the patio, the pool. I could hear it inside my room, loud and clear, if I opened a window. The speakers were installed on every tree, bush, post, wherever they could fit it. It was impossible to find a single spot within the hotel which was not contaminated by this noise. The music itself was a playlist of 20 songs playing over and over and over again.

Definitely will come again!
Pros:

Amazing hotel, where you can feel history and enjoy in the beautiful view (landscape and sea), stone villas and amazing food in hotel restaurant. Our apartment was great in the front raw just above the crystal clear sea. Manager Dusan was very proactive and he made sure that everything during our stay went smooth.
Few minutes from the hotel is very nice beach with white small rocks where we enjoyed with our kids.
