The Coastal Hotel

The Coastal Hotel is located at an excellent location close to the beach and various restaurants at or even on the beach. It is also close to a well-respected dive shop (DivinGuru). The caretaker, Joseph, is very kind and has helped us multiple times with our enquiries. The rooms are airconditioned, the beds are comfortable. and there is a laundry service. We liked that the place and surroundings are quiet, so it is ideal for families and couples who enjoy a relaxed time at the beach.

Joseph is an incredibly helpful and friendly host. He took care of us during our stay and was always very attentive and supportive.

Der Manager war immer sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, er hat uns am Morgen frische Früchte zur Verfügung gestellt. Tolle Lage sehr nahe am Strand, entspannt mit einigen Restaurants in der Nähe, von Strand aus kann man eine wunderschöne Schnorcheltour nach Pigeon Island starten.

The host was extremely polite, warm, thoughtful, and responsive. He made us feel very welcome and were always quick to help whenever we needed anything

The manager is really nice and helpful.

The strong point of the property is Joseph. He's always present and available for every request, and he makes up for the shortcomings of the property itself. Unfortunately, Joseph alone isn't enough to keep the place running since there are 13 rooms to manage and he works non-stop from 5 AM to 11 PM!! He does everything in the property (coffee and tea for people, cleaning rooms, doing laundry for everyone, fixing problems, buying things missing in the room - like hairdryer)!

Our stay at the Coastal Hotel in Nilaveli was excellent. The room was spotless and well taken care of, and we appreciated that we could do laundry there. A special thank you goes to our host, Joseph, who was incredibly kind and always ready to help. He made us feel very welcome and even took care of us when one of us wasn’t feeling well. We truly enjoyed our time here and would happily recommend it to anyone visiting Nilaveli.

I had originally booked another guesthouse in Uppuveli, however it had a lot of mould, so I didn’t stay and found The Coastal Hotel instead. It was rustic, but clean and perfect for my 5 night stay. It is a 2 min walk to a spectacular beach with a few beach restaurants within a 10 min walk. The reception area has dining tables and a lounge area for the use of guests. The manager Joseph went out of his way to help me on a number of occasions and made sure my stay was seemless. He is an absolute credit to the hotel, extremely hard working, ensuring all of his guests are looked after.

Very friendly and caring Hotel staff!! Very kids friendly. Clean rooms, good shower. Since our Rooms was not booked the next day we were allowed to stay until the late afternoon. 3 minute walk to the beach.

Der Chef Joseph war sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Wir haben kostenlos Kaffee und Tee morgens um halb 6 vor unserer Abreise angeboten bekommen. Saubere Zimmer, bequeme Matratzen. Klare Empfehlung für Nilaveli!

Clean room, close to the beach and great host Joseph. He is so helpful and supportive. Tell him your concerns, and he'll help us find the best way. We need to go out to eat, but there are a couple of restaurants nearby.
