We were only able to have a continental breakfast as we needed to be away at 7.30 so wasn’t sufficient
An earlier sitting for cooked breakfast gir a day on the hill
The staff were so welcoming and friendly.
Nothing
Beautiful location, food was excellent, staff helpful and welcoming. Peaceful and relaxing break.
Nothing not to like
Excellent location, good value for money.
Decor needs updating in rooms and communal areas.
The food
In need of serious modernisation, the carpets were dirty and the room had an unpleasant smell.
Location
Nice atmosphere, all staff very helpful and friendly
Proximity to A66 was great for a stop en-route to Scotland
The first room we were given was dark, dirty, smelly, paint crumbling off the walls, damp, very low standards. I appreciate we only paid £60 but cleanliness shouldn't be dependant on price.
We asked to be moved and was offered a nicer room up stairs, it was so hot, no A/C, when the windows opened the noise from the restaurant extractor fans was all we could hear. Very dusty behind the bed-side cabinets when I went to plug my phone charger in. Low standard on carpets, needed a clean, scuffed paint again. Old furnishings. Damp in bathroom.
Very nice and comfortable hotel.Staff is friendly and our dinner and breakfast were delicious. Highly recommended.
We liked everything ♥️
The receptionist Theresa Green was exceptionally helpful and understanding particularly when we requested an earlier room check-in after explaining my partner was unwell following recovery from recent medical treatment.
Thank you Theresa
Staff were friendly, food was really good.
The room was dirty on arrival (it got another hoover and dust). The room was in need of sprucing up as it was very dated. Not sure what was 'plus' about the classic plus room and although it is allowed in thd industry, I have never before experienced two adjoining twin beds with two single mattresses zipped together.
At one point the reception staff said go through to the dining room and then we could hear the kitchen staff moaning about guests walking in when it says wait to be seated.
The location was lovely. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was delicious and cooked perfectly.
Our room was extremely tired looking and in need of updating. The mattress was soft and needed to be replaced.
Great evening menu for myself and friends
