Our stay at Baden Beach Hotel was absolutely magical. The overall vibe is incredibly warm and welcoming – it truly felt like visiting a beloved aunt rather than staying at a standard hotel. The hostess was wonderful, exceptionally attentive to our needs, and always tried to anticipate our wishes.The hotel’s location is perfect, and waking up to the ocean view right from our room was unforgettable. We loved the thoughtful architecture and the beautiful marine-themed decor (surfboards, seashells, and fishing nets) that perfectly matches the coastal landscape. One of our favorite things to do was relaxing during the afternoon heat on the green lawn under the shade of the trees, looking at the water.The beach here is the biggest diamond: it is incredibly wide, pristine, and completely uncrowded. The turquoise water was crystal clear and always at the perfect temperature. As a huge bonus for nature lovers, we even spotted wild mongooses and a monkey right near the beach! We highly recommend this peaceful paradise

I had a great stay at the Baden Beach hotel. Everything about it was perfect. It’s right on a beautiful beach which is extremely quiet and relaxing. Staff are so lovely and friendly. Bama made me feel so welcome and happy. I didn’t want to leave!
It is within walking distance to Pasikuda beach and there are plenty of restaurants nearby for dinner. I highly recommend a stay here.

Struttura molto bella e accogliente, con un’atmosfera familiare. Tutte le camere hanno vista mare e il giardino è davvero molto curato, con accesso diretto alla tranquilla spiaggia di Kalkudah, quasi deserta durante il nostro soggiorno. Il mare qui è un po’ più mosso e diventa profondo abbastanza rapidamente, ma in pochi minuti a piedi si raggiunge Passikudah Beach, più frequentata ma con acqua molto calma e un ingresso in mare più graduale.
Ci siamo sentiti davvero accolti, sempre gentilissimi e disponibili: avevamo prenotato due notti e alla fine abbiamo deciso di aggiungerne una terza, cosa che credo descriva da sola quanto siamo stati bene.
Per la notte aggiuntiva abbiamo dovuto cambiare camera e purtroppo l’aria condizionata non funzionava. La host ci ha proposto un cambio stanza, ma essendo ormai sera abbiamo preferito non spostarci di nuovo (decisione di cui ci siamo poi pentiti durante la notte!🥵). È stata comunque molto disponibile e sinceramente dispiaciuta per l’inconveniente

Piękny widok na plażę i ocean. Jednak do plaży publicznej, gdzie można się kąpać bez wielkich fal jakieś 10 minut na piechotę.

Great location, right by the beach.

Sri, the owner, and his sisters run this hotel. They are the most caring and welcoming hosts and treated me like family.
Sri has lived and worked in Switzerland for 30+ years and speaks excellent English.
The hotel is on the beach, which you have largely to yourself. Sri has an assortment of surf boards, bicycles, etc, which he lends to guests.
Whilst I was there (4 days), the family were caring for their 92 year old mother who was recovering from a stroke, so they were not cooking. They did, however, cook me 2 meals which were the best curries I had in Sri Lanka.
I fully recommend Baden beach and would return in a heartbeat.
