It is a lovely property in a great location.
We were in Pioneer room for the first time in many stays. The room is small, but well equipped with a double bed. Unfortunately the mattress is very uncomfortable as were the pillows and did not provide a good night’s sleep. Also you could easily hear the occupants of the adjacent room as if they were with you.
Well appointed traditional hotel, clean and comfortable with lots of character. Staff were friendly and helpful. Ample parking.
To access the room we had to climb a very steep set of stairs which felt quite dodgy, but this was part of the character of the place.
Despite calling their telephone number several times during the day , leaving 3 messages. Opting for their emergency number , not once where the calls picked up, only saying they where shut . No voice messages returned .

Rooms were lovely and spacious.

The Wasp nest outside our Lodge, I do not like wasps and pretty terrified myself or our dogs were going to get stung. Obviously, we could not open the window because of this

It wasn’t made clear that food service wasn’t available to all guests on Sunday evening which was a disappointment. Offered Pizza when other guests had full menu options making us feel unappreciated and let down.
A sheet only would be helpful for bed when lodge too hot for duvet.
