Nous avions choisi Jabel Shams Dome pour l’expérience originale de dormir dans un dôme. Sur le principe, l’idée est sympathique, mais la réalité a été très décevante.

Les photos sont assez trompeuses : en arrivant, nous avons découvert une toute petite parcelle avec seulement quatre dômes, très proches les uns des autres. L’ensemble paraît beaucoup plus petit que ce que l’on imagine, et la vue n’est pas particulièrement exceptionnelle.

Le dôme en lui-même était assez mal entretenu, notamment au niveau de la propreté. Nous avons même été accueillis par un cafard, ce qui a été très désagréable. La salle de bain est située à l’intérieur du dôme, dans une cabine totalement fermée, et malgré une aération, il y avait beaucoup de traces de moisissure ou de champignons.

Au vu de la prestation, le prix est totalement disproportionné. Je ne recommande donc pas cet établissement, malgré des photos qui donnent une impression beaucoup plus positive que la réalité.

الافطار تضطر تروح فندق ثاني علشان تفطر ومعك وقت محدد من س٧-٩ ، الباب مال الدوم يدخل منها ضوء بنسبة ١٠٠٪ يعني مستحيل تنام الصباح، الحمام مافيه مغسله والحمام من زجاج يعني يوضح، يحتاج اعادة تاهيل للدوم من جديد وتهيئته للراحة،

Niet wat het lijkt. Locatie voor de walk is prima.
Pros:

Mohamed was zeer gastvrij. Hij deed zijn best om er voor te zorgen dat wij het naar ons zin hadden en regelde een mooie barbecue.
Vanuit de dome is het makkelijk om aan het begin van de balcony walk te komen.

Cons:

De kamers waren niet schoon. De airco begon in de nacht te lekken. ‘s avonds en in de ochtend was er geen water. Er liep veel ongedierte (mieren en kakkerlakken) in de dome. Ook mistten wij een buiten tafel terwijl er een barbecue werd aanbevolen. Het gordijn liep niet door waardoor het in de ochtend licht was door de glazen deur.
De foto’s lijken op een park, er zijn maar 3 domes voor gasten. Er is geen uitzicht op de bergen of iets dergelijks.

A unique glamping experience in Jebel Shams
Pros:

This was my first glamping experience, and I really enjoyed it. I happened to be the only guest at the time.

Everything ran smoothly — check-in, check-out, and communication with the owner. There is no traditional reception, but someone was there waiting for me, so everything felt well organized.

It was quite cold up there, so I definitely appreciated the AC/heating system in the dome. Breakfast was served at a nearby resort and it was excellent, with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options.

The start of the Balcony Trail is only about a 10-minute drive away, which makes this location a great base for exploring the area.

Overall a great experience.

Chambres dômes originales et confortables.
Emplacement avec une belle vue et proche du départ des randonnées.

Cons:

Les repas se font dans un hôtel à 5 min en voiture : le petit déjeuner inclus est correct, en revanche le dîner buffet présentait peu de choix pour un prix plus cher que dans d’autres hôtels dans lesquels nous avions logé avant.

bijzondere plek, leuk voor 1 nacht
Pros:

bijzondere locatie boven op de Jabal Shams. Het is eenvoudig en je komt er voor de canyon en om te hiken. Verder is het er erg rustig. Op 2 minuten rij afstand konden we in het resort terecht voor een buffetdinner en ontbijt.

het bed is erg hard.

Cool experience
Pros:

The place is super cool and the walker is lovely he makes sure you have everything you need. You can watch the sunset from close by and there is a small shop if you need anything judt across the road. The cafe is a bit further away.

Cons:

Its gets quite cold in the evenings and theres not a lot to do once the sun goes down as there is no internet. Starlink would be a nice addition.
