You arrive as a guest, but you leave feeling like you’ve discovered a little family in Zanzibar.
Pros:

Be Zanzibar is one of those places that you don’t just visit — you leave with a real connection to it.

The staff are absolutely amazing. Everyone makes you feel genuinely welcome, and the service is personal without ever losing the feeling of a luxury experience.

A special mention has to go to Camille, the manager, who genuinely goes out of her way to make sure your stay is exceptional. You can feel how much she cares about every guest and every detail.

And then there’s Tareek and his family. Having them around gives Be Zanzibar something very special — a sense of warmth, closeness and authenticity that is difficult to find in a luxury hotel. Somehow, they have created the perfect balance between feeling at home and being completely looked after.

You arrive as a guest, but you leave feeling like you’ve discovered a little family in Zanzibar.

You will leave Be Zanzibar in love with the country, the people and the place — and I can almost guarantee you’ll want to come back. ❤️🇹🇿

Truly delightful stay at Be Zanzibar!
Pros:

Located in tranquil Jambiani this hotel is truly a place to unwind and relax. The staff is incredibly charming and helpful, the rooms are spacious with comfortable beds. The breakfast ist delicious with great quality, they even offer plenty of vegan and vegetarian options, coffee is available with soya or coconut milk. We also had dinner at the restaurant which was amazing! The pool area is spacious and even though the hotel was fully booked it didn't feel crowded at all. The hotel doesn't serve alcohol but you are welcome to bring your own. We loved watching the tide come and go from this little spot of heaven!

Cons:

The only thing we would have loved were more comfortable chairs at the terrace of our room, but that's about it.

No words can describe the love and warmth in this place
Pros:

I’m torn between paradise one earth and a home away from home… so if I just had to give a review (which would never equate the feeling): if you had friends telling you to be careful with food in the island: go to « Be Zanzibar». If you’ve never been on an adventure: this is the perfect place to start (even tho I don’t mind finishing too).

This one might be bad for workaholics like me: if you’ve never want to disconnect: you should absolutely go to Be Zanzibar ! (Between the vibes, good food and kite surfing classes, I’ve literally spent a whole day without checking my phone … CRAZY)

Everything about this place is magical !

What makes it truly special is the people behind it. Tarek, the owner, embodies passion for his HOME in a way that's genuinely moving. His gorgeous wife Alexandra brings warmth and grace that balances it. Their children, Kay and Jad(ou)😍 add to the sweetness and Camille's dedication and care throughout our stay was remarkable.

Beyond the team (and a special one for Salome and Khadija among SO MANY others🥰), the service, and the love can be felt in every details.

I’m a stubborn one so the patience is unmatched: I spent hours on the three house with their artist asking him to help me create what became the most beautiful painting (after years of pretending I might be good) I've ever made. You can find him under #thecolourboxtz on Instagram if you want to see what I mean … He’d one of the best spirit I’ve met !

This place is rest for the soul and healing for the heart ! After many trips, this is honestly the first time I has tears on my way to the airport !

I honestly can’t wait to be back !!!!!!

Pros:

J’ai tellement apprécié le séjour dans cet établissement qui est magnifiquement bien décoré avec beaucoup de goût. Les chambres sont très propres on s’y sent très bien. Mais mention spéciale pour le personnel qui est très serviable aimable et souriant
C’est très familial. L’accueil est top. La nourriture est très bonne. La vue de la piscine est splendide. Je recommande vraiment!

Un posto tranquillo e di classe con pochissime camere
Pros:

Posizione molto nascosta ma spettacolare. Lo spazio è sfruttato in maniera ottimale. Fuori dall'albergo c'è soltanto il mare! La barca tradizionale è qualcosa di spettacolare per chi ama il mare.

Cons:

Niente! Il complesso è molto piccolo ma è veramente un posto perfetto per rilassarsi e ammirare la natura. Il posto è così tranquillo che bastano alcuni ospiti rumorosi per rovinare l'incantesimo.

Modern, Sauber, gutes essen

Die Unterkunft war eines der besten Hotels, die wir auf Sansibar kennenlernen durften.

Die Ruhe, die wunderschönen und großzügigen Räume, der Pool und die vielen Möglichkeiten zum Entspannen haben uns begeistert. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir aber das Essen – es war einfach phänomenal! Hier haben wir mit Abstand am besten gegessen. Jedes einzelne Gericht war etwas Besonderes und mit viel Liebe zubereitet.

Auch das gesamte Team hat einen großen Teil dazu beigetragen, dass wir uns so wohlgefühlt haben. Man merkt sofort, dass das Personal Freude an seiner Arbeit hat. Alles läuft ruhig und entspannt ab und ist gleichzeitig perfekt organisiert.

Die Besitzer sind persönlich bei allem dabei, unglaublich zuvorkommend und jederzeit hilfsbereit. Diese Herzlichkeit und Aufmerksamkeit machen diesen Ort zu etwas ganz Besonderem.

Für uns war es das beste Hotel mit dem besten Essen auf Sansibar. Eine absolute Empfehlung!

Our stay was truly unforgettable! A special thank you to Tarek, the owner, who personally welcomed the guests and made everyone feel at home. The hotel is so beautiful that we barely wanted to leave—the rooms, décor, pool, beach activities, and every little detail were amazing.

We loved the included pottery, henna, and especially the relaxing yoga class with Lara. It was my first yoga experience, and she made it truly special. The food was also delicious for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Thank you to Anna, Diana, Dorce, Rukia, Lara, Tarek, and Khadia for the wonderful hospitality, laughter, and beautiful memories. If you are visiting Zanzibar, you must experience this place—it feels like half of Zanzibar brought together in one beautiful hotel. We already miss it! 🤍

Stunning secluded retreat in paradise
Pros:

Tucked away down a side street at the south end of Jambiani, this place was a little slice of heaven. It’s out of town, but that means you are mostly undisturbed by beach sellers which was a major plus.
The beach in front of the hotel is so stunning it’s hard to believe it’s real. The food was all incredibly fresh and high quality. Staff were incredible. The room was stylishly appointed and the best bed I slept in in Tanzania. The spa is not to be missed. The pool is stunning. Couldn’t have loved it more.

Perfekt! Wir würden sofort wieder buchen!
Pros:

Es war perfekt. Die Manager sind sehr aufmerksam & haben immer eine positive Ausstrahlung. Man fühlt sich sofort angekommen & wie zuhause. Man spürt die Liebe zur Unterkunft in jeder Ecke & in jedem Detail. Das Essen & der Service sind besonders hervorzuheben. Justice, Safari & Diana machen einen super Job.

Cons:

Es gibt wirklich nichts negatives. Wir hätten länger als 4 Tage bleiben sollen.

Everything was great. Excellent location on an amazing beach, very friendly and professional staff, amazing food, beautiful property and interior design. Spacious and super clean bedrooms. The highlight of the stay was the staff - we travel a lot and rarely find this level of hospitality.

Un séjour relaxant dans une ambiance bohème
Pros:

Le plus impressionnant est la vue sur l’océan depuis la piscine et le restaurant. Nous avons également apprécié de pouvoir nous baigner dans l'océan facilement depuis l’hôtel, ainsi que le petit tour en bateau proposé par l’établissement.

Cons:

Nous avons été déçus par notre chambre qui était annoncée « avec vue sur l’océan ». En réalité, elle disposait de trois petites fenêtres donnant sur la piscine. Des plantes étaient placées devant les fenêtres afin de préserver l’intimité des clients, ce qui masquait complètement la vue et rendait l’océan impossible à apercevoir. Nous avons trouvé la description de la chambre pas suffisamment claire sur ce point, c'est dommage.
