Location
Closed the bar early Saturday due to 1 resident but even after he left refused to serve anyone
Bat staff rude and as we ordered food made us eat it outside
Breakfast very expensive for average quality
Nothing
Everything
Friendly staff, good size room, good tea making facilities & complementary biscuits
I personally found the mattress to be uncomfortable, with insufficient support or padding. I feel a better quality mattress would be a big improvement.
Location
Could have been cleaner . No housekeeping provided during our 2 night stay . Broken external window catch reported on first night, receptionist assured us it would be fixed the following day , never was . Breakfast ingredients not very good quality cheap sausages and black pudding
Room size 119 family room, to avail two large beds.
Receptionists very pleasent and accommodating in parts.
I reported the hot water tap in room 119 was not in good order (too tight) and needed some investigation, my understanding that was reported to maint but was not repaired within 24 hours. I did re report it when we left the following day, lets hope its been fixed. Breakfast, served, compared to other hotel chains was miserably but hot as cooked to order. One egg is not sufficient for a mans breakfast, no tomatoes or mushrooms. Drinks machine was out of order for two days. The double bed felt as if the mattress was well passed its sell by date, weak and no support and feeling springs whilst trying to sleep, not reported as was not sure of its condition but certainly needs some investigation. In all not very pleasent and not as good as other chains. Self service a better option although perhaps not practical due to low numbers attending breakfast. Will I be going again, Big fat no.
Everything
Clean and good staff
The space.
Light bulb switches were not separated. Unable to control room lighting.
Nothing
Hotel is worn. Bedrooms and all areas need updating. Food menu limited and quality not great.
Only 1 electricity socket in bedroom 212
Staff. Location
The size of the property is quite large. A big car park and seating outside. Bars and restaurants are easy to find and the food was delicious. Staff very kindly brought up a tray of fresh pastries and mimosas whilst we were getting ready in the bridal suite. Very nicely decorated for my sisters wedding so thank you very much !
Only thing that let it down in my opinion is no mini fridge in the room and weird stains on the carpets. Cobwebs behind the curtains and bugs in the bathroom. My sister had the bridal suite and there was random pinkish stains on the floor
Breakfast on first day was good as it appeared to be cooked to order.
Hotel was clean and tidy.
Parking was ample and free.
Although during our stay, there were 2 parties, these did not disturb us.
Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Breakfast on 2nd morning was buffet style and some of the foods had been out for some time.
Eveing meal wasn't as good as could be expected for the price. The Pie was a mass produced pie - not made by chef. It was in gravy and not with a separate jug of gravy. The dessert which was a Rhubatb and custard tart consisted of a mass produced pie case with what appeared to be tinned cold Rhubarb and tinned cold custard.
The hotel appeared to be 'tired' and in need of some refurbishment. Our mattress was old and was like a used mattress that had been put on a spare bed.
In the room, there was one electric wall heater but nothing in the bathroom.
