Room had a mildew like odor.

Our room had a leak apparently in the AC unit, and the carpet was wet and had a smell in the room. They came in and looked at it. We also asked for towels, and they were never brought to the room.

Had to wait for an hour to.check in because theu didn't have any clean rooms available.. The lobby and hallways were hot and musty..

Smelled like weed, especially when the cleaning crew was working. The pool turned green within 2 days. We showed up 45 minutes after our allowed check in time. No rooms were ready (cleaned) and no one seemed to care about our traveling frustrations.

Breakfast info: Breakfast was sparse. The eggs did not taste fresh--actually, not like real eggs. There was no salsa. There were no hard boiled eggs. all There were oranges but they were overripe and not appealing. There were no bananas. There was no oatmeal but they were going to bring more out. There weren't enough tables for everyone to sit at (we went to eat at 8:30 am.)
Rest of stay info: We arrived in Corpus about 10 am to spend the day at the beach. Called the hotel at 3:15 pm with change in arrival time until 4 or 4:30 because we were going to stay at the beach longer than originally planned. We arrived at the hotel around 4:30 pm and were told that they would put us on a paper list and call us when a room was available. They said that rooms were not available yet. I was told that it would probably be about 45 minutes for a call back (with an available room.) When my wife went to inquire about our place in line, she was told that it would be closer to an hour delay. She checked a second time and was told it would probably be more like 2 hours before the room was ready.
We got a call back at 6:18 pm. The check in staff were apologetic when we got checked in.
I asked on checkout the next day if this was the first time this happened and there were two staff members at the desk. The first one said yes it was and apologized for the delay. The second one said this happens several times a year.
I am disappointed that Booking.com had this hotel rated so highly with this type of recurrent issue.
The hotel should have anticipated peak arrivals and managed expectations by notifying callers that they would be added to waitlist and get a call back when a room was available and noted on their website that peak traffic during holiday weekends may result in delayed room availability and to call in to get on the queue.

Our room had some trash left behind in the room energy drink can and paper towel on the floor. Seemed to be a little under staffed.

I chose this hotel mainly because the room included a kitchen, but unfortunately it was not well equipped enough to make cooking a practical option. The room itself was much smaller than expected, and both the mattress and pillows were uncomfortable. In addition, the mattress appeared to be stained, which was disappointing.

Another drawback was that housekeeping service is only provided for stays of three or more days, which was not clearly communicated beforehand. Finally, the breakfast did not meet my expectations and was not as good as described in the hotel’s advertising. Overall, while the location was convenient, these issues affected the quality of our stay.
