My favorite lodge on my 16-night trip...stayed there 5 nights on three separate occasions...

Pros:

Hotel facilities were good. We had a connecting room for a family of 4 and room location was a walking distance from the hotel reception counter. Arrived quite late and an early morning checked out.

Cons:

The hotel is located in the JRO Airport compound but away from the departure/arrival building. It takes a 10 minutes drive from the airport to the hotel.

Even though we were told that parking is free, we still have to pay for parking since entrance to the hotel requires us to take the parking ticket at the airport. So since we rent a car, we have to call our rental office to take the car before we stay in the hotel to avoid exorbitant parking charges. This is not stated clearly to us when we did the booking.

Con pequeños detalles mejoraría mucho.
Pros:

Ubicación al aeropuerto. Servicio, especialmente Rebecca, nos atendió muy amable y muy atenta. La piscina agradable con vistas al Kilimanjaro. Perfecto para un vuelo temprano.

Cons:

Detalles que tienen que mejorar: si tienes el hotel vacío, no pongas a unos invitados en una habitación donde fallan cosas. La ducha tiene una cortina que da grima tocarla, el baño tiene una tapa que es de plástico blando, no hay secador, fallaba el ventilador, la red antimosquitos manchada y no ajustaba bien.

Nice grounds, cute villas the staff was polite, professional and accommodating.

Cons:

The ride from the airport down this potholed dusty was was less than 2 miles and they charge $60 to pickup, shame. I found the food although plentiful, not very tasty

Airport Hotel in the Bush
Pros:

This is not your normal concrete tilt slab airport hotel with sterile square rooms, these are small banda type houses located in a lush bush setting 5 minutes drive from the airport. Great pool. View onto Kilimanjaro. Comfortable bar with good selection of beers and bar snacks. Best airport hotel I have ever stayed in. If you see the chain hotels as boring then this is a delight! .

Cons:

There isn't even any plane noise to disturb you! 😁😁

Rip off and I’ve prived even without them charging me twice
Pros:

Location was convenient to airport but there’s nothing else there

Cons:

The fact my booking was lost. The hotel refused to let us stay until I paid again. Booking.com failed to resolve the dispute even though it was clearly an issue between them and the hotel. 2 months later I’m still chasing the hotel.

* leaking bidet spray
* slippery shower floor (no rubber mat)

Horrible - dont stay.
Pros:

It’s in close proximity to the JRO airport.

Cons:

Was the Worst hotel i have ever been in. It smelled, i was afraid to sleep in the bed - or use the pillows - lizards on the walls, WiFi didn’t work — they told us at midnight that we can change rooms (we were there for only 4 hours to catch a middle of the night flight). Try and stay anywhere else, it was the only option we had but absolutely dont stay here, i would rather have slept in the airport.
