Location, staff, food, the property
The heatwave Wales is experiencing affected my stay as the room on the top floor was very warm as no air conditioning. (Hardly slept & couldn’t hang in the room to enjoy the views )
Also the shower was basically a trickle of water.
Everything else was spot on
We loved the traditional style and historic atmosphere. - large rooms, high ceilings, traditional drapery and furniture, etc. The views from the garden are sensational.
The lift was sometimes inoperable because other guests had not closed the access gate properly. This caused difficulty for guests with mobility problems.
Everything. Such high standards and lovely friendly staff.
Words don’t often escape me and I don’t like overdosing on superlatives so - Magnificent architecture and internal decor. Beautifully landscaped gardens with most pleasant walks.
Nothing.
Location, beauty of the estate
Due to climate change I think rooms and suites need Aircon. Breakfast a bit slow due to a la carte ordering. Some items need to be buffet style.
Superb property in amazing location

So relaxing amazing staff lovely spa fabulous hotel
The taster menu was not 10/10 and as fabulous as I would have expected- this is genuine feedback. I know you’ll want to get it perfect for all your plans.
History and ambiance
Rooms no Aircon - our room to hot to sleep in by the manager sorted it efficiently by upgrading us to a larger room with fans !!
Beautiful old property, lovingly maintained, well trained staff
Tiny things - no towel or robe hook next to shower, sockets hard to access
Beautiful old building set in stunning countryside. A touch of luxury without being pretentious and the staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was probably one of the best meals we've ever had.
The only negative I can say is in the living area of the room the chairs were upright, dining table type chairs. Not very comfy or relaxing to read or relax.
Almost everything about Pale Hall is exceptional. It's a gorgeous, comfortable and very aspirational space. The 1929 Bentley out front kind of set the scene!
The outdoor spaces, terrace and gym areas are beyond any ordinary hotel.
The food is amazing, both breakfast and dinner.
The pub at the end of the driveway, The Bryntirion Inn (which I believe is also under the same ownership) also serves outstanding quality food.
Service are dinner was very slow. There is a tasting menu but we went for the a la carte, and felt that perhaps they were pacing us equally, which meant it took almost 3 hours for a 3 course meal!
Style
Kept central heating on during a heat wave
Staff were amazing, so accommodating and friendly. special shout out to Shaz, Bruce & Ryan. Food sublime. Gardens well attended and beautiful.
Farm animals in the grounds were really good to see.
The Pub was not quite so good, staff need to smile more and engage with customers.
Beautiful property, exceptional food and wonderful staff. Highly recommended!
