Just book it! It’s worth it!
Pros:

The most beautifully designed hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Calm and peaceful, exquisite taste and attention to detail.

Cons:

The only small issue we had was with the WiFi in our room. We had trouble connecting because the signal was weak. Our mobile service wasn’t very good in the area either so we were a bit stuck. But the hotel did everything they could to try to fix it.

Love, love, love this place. 2nd time here and am headed back same time next year.
Pros:

Excellent location, amazingly comfortable and spacious rooms, delicious breakfast to order, wonderful staff - what more can I say than, WOW. This is our second stay at Casa Carmen and we already have our visit planned for next year. This is a truly remarkable property.

A nice option in Oaxaca
Pros:

The rooms are spacious, nicely appointed, and immaculately clean. The bed was comfortable. The location is great for exploring Oaxaca on foot. The staff who work there were all very nice and approachable.

Cons:

There was some confusion when we arrived. Apparently we were supposed to have filled out some forms for a virtual check-in ahead of time, but we never received them. The only person working there at the time seemed surprised at our arrival. It got straightened out in the end, but it was somewhat frustrating, and there really could have been a better system in place.

Although the location is fairly quiet for being in the middle of the city, there was still noise until late at night from a neighboring restaurant, and there were plenty of barking dogs and things like that early in the mornings. The breakfasts were nice, and they were convenient. And the woman who cooks them is really lovely. But we didn't find them amazing like some reviewers.

Cons:

התנהלות טכנולוגית מוגזמת. תהליך צ'ק אין ללא פגישה של בן אנוש. היה קשה לנו למצוא את המקום.
עם זאת אפילו שהשעה היתה מאוחרת הצוות ניהל איתנו התכתבות שירותית מאוד בווטסאפ.

Hotel exclusivo, merece la pena conocerlo
Pros:

El diseño del hotel, las obras de arte de Amador Montes, todos los detalles son de un gusto exquisito. La comodidad de la habitación. Desayuno fabuloso.

Cons:

La imposibilidad de adelantar el desayuno por nuestra salida temprana o alguna opción para llevar. El wifi va a ratos.

Pros:

Beautiful hotel! The room was very comfortable and clean, and super spacious. We loved its peaceful nature given there were only a handful of guests and the personal touches at breakfast.

Cons:

The concierge service was provided via WhatsApp - we found them to be slow and unreliable on some basic things (eg taxi, iron, umbrella). This was a shame given the on site staff were fantastic (chef, housekeeping) and the rest of the stay was perfect.

Stay in an Art Villa!
Pros:

A truly lovely stay. It feels like being a guest in a private art villa — the architecture, interior design, and art collection are simply extraordinary. Breakfast is a delight, prepared by a private chef in an open kitchen that flows seamlessly into the living and dining space. The location is ideal: central yet quietly removed from the bustle. Our favorite place we stayed in Oaxaca. Do not hesitate to book.

Phenomenal, it’s like a dream
Pros:

Awesome location, it’s really quiet. Surrounded by good food options. The design of the place is spectacular and the staff is sweet. Breakfast is SO GOOD

Cons:

The only thing to note is that breakfast starts pretty late so if you have a day trip(s) then you will miss it.

Sublime Stay!
Pros:

What did I like...ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING!!! Staff are incredibly attentive, friendly and gracious! Once you step foot into Casa Carmen, you enter a light filled art gallery; so eclectic, so fun and so stunning! Then you walk into your room: impeccably clean, tasteful and so very comfortable and again with the details in amenities; Mexican glassware and bedding, Oaxacan candle decor and even a whole line of Molton Brown bathroom goodies! Rooftop is gorgeous and the breakfast options were outstanding!

Cons:

Upon arrival, there is no sign to indicate you are at Casa Carmen; but you figure it out eventually.
