Good for toddlers, beautiful gardens and great game drives

The game drives were great. There are lots of activities for little children. Boma dinner was fun experience

Cons:

The restaurant and viewing deck were closed for renovations (but not disclosed beforehand), so could not enjoy a view of the bush from the hotel- only of the garden & pool. The conference room used as a temporary dining hall was dark and stuffy. Buffet food very average, same menu each day.

Eigen ingang naar het national park

Cons:

De ochtend game drive, ontbijt en check out tijden zijn erg strak gepland, waardoor je na de ochtend safari heel erg moet haasten terwijl je eigenlijk wat meer wilt kunnen genieten van de lodge en omgeving, dat is wel een beetje zonde.

Brilliant location
Pros:

Wait staff excellent. Reception staff poor. We had great difficulty in getting an appropriate room for disabled guest. Only achieved after several representations and threat to cancel booking and go elsewhere.

In my opinion, Kwa Maritane did not deliver value for money and did not meet our expectations.
Pros:

The staff were great. The location ticked all the boxes and the venue was most attractive and in line with a bush venue.
We had a most enjoyable and productive game drive on the evening of our arrival.

Cons:

We were disappointed with the room. The beds were hard. The couch in the bedroom was worn and not comfortable. The carpets were very dated and unattractive. The food at the restaurant was very disappointing and not in keeping with expectations.
Generally I didn't feel that Kwa Maritane delivered value for money and the quality of the accommodation and food was not in keeping with even a mediocre family hotel.
Our booking through booking.com was efficiently processed, however, within a day of the booking being confirmed, Kwa Maritane reverted with payment demands, which were not in keeping with the Booking.com confirmation and the resort threatened to cancel our booking unless payment over and above our lodged credit card, were made. We approached the property directly. They were insistent on this upfront payment being made. We then approached Booking.com who very quickly resolved the situation. No sooner had we received confirmation that the original payment terms were valid and no additional payment needed to be made, than we receive further demands from the property that immediate payment be made. The matter was ultimately resolved by the manager of the hotel, but the process was unnecessary, time consuming and very irritating.

Highly recommend!
Pros:

Proximity to the animals. The game drives & drivers were excellent. The rooms & facilities were very good. We were trying the venue for the purposes of various friends visiting & would highly recommend the venue particularly for families. We will be back!

Cons:

Food was excellent & the staff very helpful although they got confused on a couple of orders.
