The stunning setting of the property plus the attentiveness and helpfulness of the friendly staff.
There was nothing I didn’t like
It’s a beautiful property but it needs improvement.
It’s not very clean.
Excellent
Mosquitoes
Lovely staff, nice location, great internet connection. Perfect for work or holiday.
I saw (what seemed to be) a manager rubbing his female employee's butt.
He looks in his late 50s or 60s and during my stay, he would politely roam the tables at mealtime, asking if everything was okay and directing staff to make some arrangements or corrections.
The lady looks very young (maybe early 20s). She looked very embarrassed when he started touching her. Then he was commenting on her facial looks, and again she answered in an embarrassed way.
He was very at ease and there were other staff members around. If he was doing this so naturally in public in front of the guests and other staff, I can't begin to imagine what it's like behind closed doors.
Nous avons beaucoup aimé le bar à fruits frais au petit déjeuner.
We had a very pleasant stay at Kombo Beach. The hotel has recently been renovated, and the modern rooms felt comfortable and decently maintained, I particularly appreciated balconies with comfortable seating. Smart TV available in the room as well.
The staff were a real highlight of our stay. Housekeeping deserves special recognition for keeping the rooms spotless throughout our visit.
The location is also very good. While it is slightly away from the main tourist centre, it is close to the lovely Fajara neighbourhood as well as a pleasant riverside walking path surrounded by mangroves and rice fields.
I also recommend to reach Crocodile Pool on foot.
We tried to extend our stay early on, but were told to ask on our planned day of departure. When the day came they had no more rooms available. This could have been communicated right away when we first inquired.
Food in the paid restaurant is not great.
The rooms were generally clean, had ok amenities (Gym had very basic equipment, toilets were clean and poolside kept clean)
The staff are extremely friendly, property nicely situated on the beach, food was on point and so was the entertainment.
The bedrooms lack attention which is a real shame, the hotel has the potential to be a high standard if they took extra care around finishings in the bathroom in particular.
I booked 3 premium suites and only received 1 on arrival, it was resolved the following day however it wasn’t a great start to holiday.
Uno staff gentilissimo! Spiaggia pulita, piscina curata.
Davvero tutto perfetto!
Forse il cibo non aveva una vasta scelta

So much to like. I have stayed at Kombo Beach for many years and have always loved it. The location is fantastic, on a sandy beach. The recent updates to the hotel are phenomenal, with more improvements since our last stay. The new swimming pool is great, and although we were not in the swim up pool rooms, they looked fantastic. The room upgrades make a great difference. We chose the all inclusive option and the food was excellent - often not the case with all inclusive. A great choice of food, from Gambian dishes, salads, meats and many different types of cusisine. With the new ownership it is lovely to have quality Indinian food on offer, if a little unusual in the Gambia. The breakfast is exceptional - I am not sure if I have had better, even in a top hotel. The head chef at breakfast is talented. The new manager is friendly and visible. It is clear he runs a tight ship ensuring the needs of residents are met. The true beautyof the hotel is the staff, and always had been. even though the hotel was previously in need of renovation, we came back because the staff were so friendly and helpful. The upgrades are amazing, but the welcome of the old staff - and now the new management, is what brings us back.
I would not change much. As an all inclusive, the cocktails were not great, nor alcholic beverages in general. When paying all inclusive, it is so that you can enjoy a drink and food knowing it is already paid for. I did not notice any of the snacks you sometimes get in all inclusive - e.g an ice cream at a specific time. It is possible they were availble.
My biggest change would be at the main reception. Unlike the rest of the staff, the welcome and support was dismissive and unfriendly, as if we didn't exist. They argued with each other in front of us, and seemed to busy to help. We were left to stack our own luggage on the trolley and my son carried most suitcases up the 3 flights of stairs whilst the reception worker played with his football in the corridor. This was so at odds with the management and other staff who went out of their way to help.
We liked everything, it was such a beautiful place and great location right on the beach front!
Overall I think we would stay there again, as it just had a great atmosphere there, and majority of the staff were so helpful and attentive.
It's more about slight improvements that could be made to keep the standards of a 4* hotel up!
1. At meal times it would be great if the desserts and salads had net covers to keep the flies off them.
2. Housekeeping staff could do with working a bit quicker as it took the whole day and evening, and still our room wasn't done everyday as advertised, thankfully we are not super messy people so we were fine with the once or twice it got cleaned and when we asked for towels we got them.
3. There was some kind of information pack about what's happening on site each day and the times and also where and what is available around the hotel for customers.
4. The water in the shower was cold on the evenings. However, with the sunshine being so hot it wasn't the worse but would of been nice to have the option of having the water a bit warmer on the nights.
5. All inclusive should include being able to have food (at least once) at the A la Cartè restaurant as well and it would be great if it included a few free ice cream scoops too...
