The airport transfer was a positive start to the stay. Pa Cisse was knowledgeable and shared useful information about The Gambia during the journey. Badou in the restaurant was friendly, welcoming, and helped create a relaxed atmosphere with his upbeat personality. Fatou from housekeeping was efficient and attentive, ensuring water and toilet paper were regularly replenished and the room was serviced consistently throughout the stay.
The room itself was comfortable and airy. The air conditioning worked very well and made a significant difference in the tropical climate. The shower had excellent water pressure with reliable hot water. Wi-Fi was generally one of the hotel’s strongest features, averaging around 55 Mbps download and 95 Mbps upload during our stay, which was sufficient for video calls, streaming, and remote work. The hotel’s backup power system also performed well. Despite occasional power cuts in the area, electricity was typically restored within a few minutes.
When we reported that a bedroom curtain had detached during normal use, it was repaired while we were out for the afternoon and was fixed by the time we returned.
Reception was consistently the weakest aspect of the stay. The online check-in did not appear to reduce paperwork or waiting time on arrival, and we still had to complete forms by hand while our booking was located. Multiple interactions with reception felt indifferent and unhelpful throughout the stay, including during checkout where other guests were attended to before us despite us having been waiting first.
Food quality was inconsistent. The Sunday brunch was disappointing and the standard breakfast was often bland, repetitive, or lacked attention to detail. Some dishes were left uncovered, fruit flies were occasionally visible around food, and items such as the French toast were extremely dry and overcooked.
There were also a number of maintenance and environmental issues. Ants were regularly visible in the room, occasional small cockroaches were seen during the stay, and mosquitoes were common throughout the property. One evening around the Barracuda poolside restaurant, mosquito activity was particularly severe and made outdoor dining uncomfortable despite using insect repellent. Guests should bring more insect repellent than they think they will need.
The room refrigerator was not functioning, the bathroom sink design allowed water to run across the counter and onto the floor, and many metal fixtures around the property showed visible rust or corrosion. The hallways often felt damp and had a noticeable damp smell. Our room was next to a housekeeping storage area where loud conversations sometimes disrupted work calls.
Cats were frequently present around the dining areas. During our stay we witnessed a cat jump onto a guest’s table and begin eating unattended food. Guests with allergies or concerns about animals around food service areas should be aware of this. Vendors outside the hotel can also be persistent when entering or leaving the property.
Although the Wi-Fi was generally fast, we did experience one outage lasting approximately 6.5 hours.

Breakfast was great. Lots of food choices and fresh cut fruit.
I wish there was 24 hour food or room service. The hotel is not accessible to restaurants or stores without a taxi. Therefore when the restaurant closes for the night, there are no food options. However, I did notice that the restaurant would stay open past posted hours based on guest arrivals.
Large complex, several buildings, with big swimming pool. Well equiped fitness room. Hotel rooms are large, beautiful, with very good bedding. All very clean. Breakfast is perfect. Staff is nice, helpful, professional. Above all, a hotel in which you can comfortably work : Not only the internet connection is strong, but the generator ensures a continuous and seamless connection although the very frequent electricity cut offs.
The location : The hotel is already isolated, but it got worse since one of the roads have been closed (a bridge is under construction). So you have to take a large detour to reach out for Serrekunda or Senegambia. Plus : Compared to the competition closer to Senegambia, this hotel is too expensive.
The stunning setting of the property plus the attentiveness and helpfulness of the friendly staff.
