Martello Bay hotel is very nice, clean and very comfortable and also the people are pleasant,
I liked everything.
No breakfast was provided but the hotel was in easy walking distance to the Toby Carvery where excellent breakfasts could be obtained. The hotel was only minutes from the beach. The hard working hotel manager was very polite, helpful and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble for him. The room was well equipped with everything we needed for a short break, even a mini fridge and microwave.
The pillow was a little hard but that was my only complaint.
Exceptionally clean and well presented, comfortable room with beautiful view, excellent location 2 steps from Martello Bay Beach, both Martello towers, a restaurant and cafe, in a nice looking quiet neighbourhood. Just 10mins walk from Clacton Pier, Seaside gardens and the High Street. Also not that far from the station. Alex from Reception was very kind and attentive and happily kept my bags safe for me most of the day on the day I checked out. In short, an excellent experience and I will definitely return when I next stay in Clacton.
At first when I tried it, I thought the mattress was a bit too hard for my liking but I actually slept really well! My bathroom/WC was separate from my room and I needed to leave the room to go, but it was private, I was given a key to it, it was very clean and overall, it really didn't cause any problem.
Near to the beach. Easy parking on road. Friendly. Microwave in our room as well as tea coffee biscuits and fridge, which was convenient. Very clean. Comfortable.
Second room had a private bathroom but this was not en-suite. Stairs are slightly steep but my elderly mum managed them.
Location was good . Hotel was very clean . Had a handy little fridge a microwave and usual kettle etc . Bathroom was excellent and very clean .
I booked this hotel because it had a double bed and a sofa bed but the “sofa bed” was tiny more like a large armless chair . As I was sharing with a grown up son and myself a lady of 75 years I thought at short notice in peak times I had found a room that we could use for 1 night but sadly the sofa bed would have been too small for any person more than 18 inches tall . Ask for bedding was given a duvet cover and a pillow no sheets no anything else . The host was neither friendly or helpful such a pity cos the actual place was nice but we had to try and share a double bed which at 75 and 41 was not easy so it spoiled it all for us
