Rutland Hall near Stamford UK
Pros:

Beautiful view, great staff everywhere. Very nice grounds. Close to the location whete our meeting was being held.

Cons:

Breakfast buffet was ok, scrambled eggs weren't very good, tasted like powdered egg. Phone in room didnt work.

Extremely disappointing and will certainly not stay again. Great looking place, not value for money
Pros:

Staff and location were very good, although the site is large to walk around and had some difficulty finding our rooms due to poor signage

Cons:

We were a party of 3 friends, who all booked a double room and paid the same price. The rooms were classed as ‘cosy double’ but one of the rooms was little more than a large cupboard and in no way would qualify as a double room.

The bed was up against the wall, making it highly unsuitable for two occupants. There was hardly any room at the other side of the bed and you certainly could not use a table with mirror placed there unless you moved a chair out of the way to the only space, which was then in front of the wardrobe and the mirror itself did not stay in place anyway so was completely useless . You could not use the TV (unless you sat at a very uncomfortable angle).

None of the rooms had robes or slippers and when we asked at the pool if we could have one, we were told we couldn’t as we had only booked a Cosy Double and none were available to us there. The pool itself was clean but the sauna was not working and the steam room was claustrophobically small.

We went for lunch at Blossoms restaurant and, although the quality of the food was good, it was certainly not value for money, as one of our party had the mackerel dish priced at £16 and there were two tiny pieces with a few blobs of something to accompany it.

When the difficulty with the one room was pointed out to a Receptionist, she admitted that there were a couple of rooms that were extremely small. When asked if it was then fair to charge the same rate for all three rooms, she did not have an answer.

fine but I fell out of bed, and banged my head on a beam in the bathroom, due to the small room.

The venue is charming, but rather a lot of stairs to climb as it is on a hill. Lovely pool.
Pros:

Excellent buffet breakfast - good selection, well presented & hot cooked choice.

Cons:

Hard bed & narrow.
We did think a hotel of this standard should provide 5 foot beds, rather than 'small double'.

Great location but not the feel of the hotel that you would expect, it felt more motel in the services provided
Pros:

Good location & lovely grounds

Cons:

Not having a separate bar or casual area detracted from the quality of stay, services felt very budget. No aircon just a cheap fan in the room which on a hot day was pretty uncomfortable. Staff in the restaurant very polite and helpful but not mirrored on reception. Reception staff not as engaging or helpful.

Overall a very enjoyable 3 night stay!
Pros:

The Luxury King Room was great with lovely views. The room had everything we could possibly need.

Cons:

Our room was on the 2nd Floor and the lift was out of order which meant we struggled with our luggage up and down the stairs due to our health probs.
